I am an analog guy, no automation, so mixing can be a real bitch. I have to get it right from beginning to end. With 24 tracks, and some of those tracks having different instuments/parts, it can be a daunting task, very stressful. I enjoy tracking much more, playing with mics, pres and positioning. ...

I've got a slider on my booth and it works surprisingly well, but it was an $800 door. If it's not closed tightly it makes a big difference. Just the slightest crack of an opening. I really don't think the cheap ones are going to seal well enough to give you enough isolation. Good Luck, Luke

I have a matched pair of E350s. They were the updated version of the e300 10 years ago. They are great on just about everything. USA made in Ohio. Vocals and bass cabs is where they see most of there use. The way they trickle charge with 48v to there internal batteries give you lots of dynamics. Gr...

Re: Guitar as a send?

Just run a long 1/4" speaker cable to the cab. Leave the head in the control room. If it's a combo amp, you can get away with a pretty long high quality cable. Try it either way, I don't think you'll have a problem.
Good Luck

Re: ADAT equivalent

Alesis HD 24, if you like the adat, you'll love the HD 24. No daw necessary. You probably can't get much out the adat, and you can dump all your projects over to HD 24 very easily, and add to, or edit them much easier than with adat. The two machines are very compatible. Keep the adat at least until...

Re: Figure-8-in-Guitar Amp Phase Question

Sounds like a good idea. Try it and let us know how it works out. If I had an open back cab I'd try it.
