And my opinion remains -- they stink. Sorry. Dude, you missed it. I went to over 40 shows and I like a lot of them, thought others sucked, but didn't really "get it" until about halfway through. Their shit wasn't about the "jam" or whatever - their shit was about collective expression and conciousn...

I'm watching it right now. I tuned in to see U2 (guilty pleasure).
Are Franz Ferdinand giving anyone else a Duran Duran vibe, or is that just me?
Hmmm.

Hey - not to in any way diminish the awesomeness of the getting that ticket, but the Dead used to do that stuff before shows too. I got a second row ticket for their last show at Alpine Valley in 1988 handed to me about an hour before the show by a "Dead Angel". I'll never forget that night.

Wilco Show: Ok, I like them again ...
So the Wilco show came to Champaign/Urbana again last night and I think I went more out of some sense of inevitability than about being jazzed over the new record. Boy was I glad I went. There's a long history between our little town, Uncle Tupelo, and Wilco so it always seems like Tweedy does somet...

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'
Well you might disagree, but I hardly think the notion that Slavery negates the ideals of the Declaration is "childish". Place yourself in the shoes of a slave at the signing of the declaration. Is this country founded on principles of individual freedom? Slavery was maintained in the southern state...

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'
I'm not trying to pick on you, just to clarify a few things: I want to be an example that the way to an improved society is for each indiviual to use their own freedom to help their neighbor. Thats the principle the US is founded on. Not central government ownership and power. And yes, peace, hope a...

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'
Yes, let's "spur" the economy by dismantling social security. The conservative agenda in a nutshell. btw - nice job spurring the economy with those tax cuts. I personally have seen quite a benefit from that $300 check I received two years ago - my property taxes are up again! God Bless the Conservat...

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'
Accountability arises from stake holders being close to decision makers. Wow. A true believer. Good for you! Accountability on Wall Street means how many people have you laid off this month, how many old growth forests have you clear cut for toilet paper, how much formula have pushed on newborns in...

Re: Ann Coulter Clip: Busted!
Uh, not to sound too cynical but why would the 9/11 report be the final word on anything? According to that commission no one is to blame for what happened and nothing could be done to prevent it. Credible? I don't think Moore was claiming the Saudis flew out the day after. He was ques...

It just makes the Liberal Elitist Heart in me skip a beat to see this lying bee-otch get busted on national tv (though, it is CBC).
Ah. I needed that.

Sea Change is an awesome break-up record. It's a bit convoluted, but I thought it was pretty honest.
Of course he does start one song with "there's a bluebird at my window ..."
