How would you get this bass sound? (Karen Dalton - Something on your mind)

Spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/album/1OuzXj4yo7VyBKwHZhxEnW?highlight=spotify:track:6Vz2IQv3AYoznh4tjsrRPo To me it sounds like a P bass with an overdriven amp, played with ...

which budget usb mixer/interface should i get?
i've been goolging for the past few hours and haven't found much i would like a mixer/usb combo with 4 ins (at least 2 mic pres) and 4 outs. the reasoning is i often like to reamp softsynths and stuff either into a room to get natural verb or through guitar pedals. everything i've found in the sub $...

Gear as an investment. Notice any trends? Have a prediction?
So I'm looking around my meager home studio today. Eyeing the 30 or so guitar pedals i never use, the dozen or so $200 guitars i never use, the 8 or so low level mics i never use and i'm thinking.... none of this stuff will ever really appreciate. i have $20k or so invested in this life and my retur...

just thinking about the tape op ethos here... everything is a tool. use what works for you who knows. dumping through the line in might just make your tunes that much better. especially if you're kinda low fi or loop based/post uk hip hop. extra digital junk seems to work for those genres. i haven't...

ribbon track: i must say that's a really interesting ride sound. i dont think i've heard that before. it's truly beautiful seems like you could make this work. but your mixes would probably have to be really "carved". i.e. each instrument would need lots of separation in the mix. it's own frequency ...

first of all this is pretty decent tune with a good vocal performance there's something just kind of missing here. i think it's the drums they just sound kind of uninteresting for something that's really propelling the song forward. i think you should listen to fiest's "the reminder" (or is it remai...

Roland Juno 6 - not analog oscs but polyphonic no midi - killer sounding under $350 i shared a practice space with a band that had one of these. the few hours i spent with it were some of the best. the layout wasn't immediately clear but was intuitive enough that when i tweaked settings i was alway...
