Thanks for the response, and I'll take your advice. My plan is to buy a pair of small condensors in the next few months, and when I saw the package I was like, "Shit, there's a pair right there, plus another large condensor." What I really needed was someone to say, "Don't get that", which is what y...

Korg D3200 package

What do y'all think of this package: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Korg-D3200-AllInOne-Recording-Package?sku=242062&src=3WFRWXX? I am planning on purchasing a D3200 anyway, and can get a factory-resealed (with warranty) unit for $1037 (they're $1299 new @ Musicians Friend). For those that d...

Okay, so I did some back research on the board (which I should have done first, but cut me some slack - it's been a long time since I've posted), and realized that using this Radio Shack voltage converter was really stupid, and what I need is a power regulator instead. Now, we're on a serious time c...

115volts in Europe?

Hello, I'm sitting in a room in Berlin w/ a Nord Electro 2 that won't work. Plugged it into Radio Shack voltage converter set to 50w and it worked fine for about 25 minutes, then it turned off. The voltage converter was hot, which I was told could happen, so I let it cool for a while. Plugged it bac...

Re: Live at Budokan

Well, if it counts for anything, I am well aware of the phrase "live at budokan" but didn't know to whom it applied, so it must be of some pop-cultural signifigance.

I've always thought Family Ties was a high quality sitcom, which should be an oxymoron, but wasn't in that case.

Grandaddy - the sophtware slump

It isn't as flawless as I thought it was a couple of years ago, but it's still the record that I know I can return to any time and have an emotional response to.

Her voice is too trilly for me, but yeah, the recording on the new one is gorgeous.

Re: Anybody in SF doing anything interesting

By the way, have you checked out The Rum Diary? They're from Cotati...early stuff was similar to Three Mile Pilot, newer stuff is supposed to be better and more expansive.

Re: Anybody in SF doing anything interesting

If I lived a few hundred miles North of where I am now I'd hook up with you in a second. That's exactly the type of band I'm looking for, and finding a fellow Chokebore fan is rare.

Re: For fans of Broken Social Scene

All the bands are indie...I imagine all you have to do is write or call and ask. I know that at times they play with eight or nine people; how are the parts delegated? Do the players naturally know where to fall or is it more delegated? I also know several of the members are involved in different ba...

Re: What's The Coolest Band Name You've Ever Heard?

Yeah I'm talking about "It's A Miracle". I actually just emailed Troy seeing if Chokebore would ever play in the U.S. again and if I could book his solo act. If you look at the gigography on their site it's amazing that they started out touring with Cows and Today Is The Day, and then very soon ther...
