I agree those Blue cables are pretty rockin' for premade strips of wire between some connectors. For my money and tech experience I'd take Canare over Mogami for anything that's multi-pair. Mogami is good cable, but it curls up when you go to heat shrink it and the twisted multi-strand shield just g...

Re: technical quetsion on vintage shure brothers m67

the xlr out on the M67 is mic level. you need to wire up an out for the line level output. it's really easy, just like hooking up a speaker. see those poles on the back that say ground,2, and 3? those are the connections for the line level out. so, get an xlr connector and connect pin 1 to the groun...

Re: In need of baseball bat for...

Primera does the same shit with their printers. They actually use cheap Leximark printers, the kind that you get free with a computer, and just modify the paper tray to fit CDs. They also put stickers on the cartridges and charge way too much. We go through about a cartridge every two weeks and have...

Re: guitar thru a reel to reel...

i've got a question. i have an old tube portable turntable, one of the cheap jobs, that i'd love to turn into an amp. is there anyway to do that? can i just put a 1/4" jack where the needle was? I'll probably kill myself right?

Re: What's your favorite Casio?

Another PT-1 vote. I really enjoy monophonic! I just recently won this auction and will more than likely start 'bending one or both of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3772944216&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT http://i17.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/1e/41/f3_1_b.JPG Hey that bottom on...

Re: What's your favorite Casio?

My favorite is my first PT-87 that I bent, this was my first bending project. I had to take out the speaker in order to have room for the new switches, so I put an out on the speaker cables and an input connected to the speaker on this broken radio. It's kinda like an extension cab I suppose. The co...

Re: String Arrangement alternatives

don't play the part into the sampler like a keyboard if you are going to end up using one. nothing sounds more retarded than keyboard voicings on a string section. instead try playing in the line for each part atleast twice and using a few similar sounding patches. that way instead of one performanc...

Re: Any of you solderheads ever built a PAiA Theremax?

I'm using a tin-snipped baking pan for the bottom - 1 buck at the thrift store. that's what i made the top and bottom for my Fatman out of, check it out in my avatar. i was going to use some 1/8" steel but then i decided i'd rather not take the time to cut that to shape and just got a cookie sheet....

Re: Summing multiple mics into one channel of DAW.. how?

brent averill makes some 2x1 boxes specifically for this purpose. they'd be pretty easy to make as well, just some resistors.
