Love the ME-1NV. It's a "desert island" pre if there ever was one. IMHO. Very strong on vox.

Okay so I found one blurb on the net comparing these rca trandformers to some well known altecs. One blurb on the whole damn net....wild! I did test this box on bass guitar and was blown away. My other Bass channel is a Phoenix Audio DRS-1. I could see myself actually picking this over my Phoenix. N...

Anyone ever heard of these RCA SXMG-09's. My buddy just gave me an old McMartin broadcast mixer with 4 of these on the mic inputs and one on the output. I doubt these were org. in the unit.Gonna plug it in now.

One more note..... My unit was built to get power from a reel to reel so the plug I converted has no ground I have a gnarly 60 cycle hum. Is this from the lack of a ground? How would one add a ground? I have it plugged into a power strip though. Wouldnt this act as one for it?

Funny thing is the mic inputs just have a very small window for use, as far as the gain staging goes(unless you want cool tube distortion). The aux inputs much the unit very useable for me now.
