thanks- the presonus it is... and the obvious plan is to train the operators on the comps, and keep them bypassed until they know what they are doing. There are some engineers there who will know how to use them already... I just was wondering if there was something out there even more simple! Thank...

Re: need rec. on 8 channels of easy to use comp for live use

I'm helping put together a live system and need something around 8 channels of decent compression that is easy to use. The system operators won't always be the best, so compressors that are hard to screw up are what I'm looking for. As far as the 8 channel part of the equation, the Presonus ACP88 i...

Re: Seatlle

Wait, is seeabove going to be in Seattle, or in Seatlle? Because that might have been what caused Walnut such problems. I thought that's what the whole mystery was -- he thought he was going to Seattle but took the wrong exit and wound up in Seatlle, yo. Yeah, it's possible that they aren't even in...

Re: Seatlle

OK... so...

I hear Walnut went to Seattle? How did that go? Did he ever settle? Did Mr. Attle finally get his man?

Seeabove, perhaps you could give us a report when you get there. Try to be thorough, this issue has plagued this board for quite some time.

Re: Has anyone used Ward Beck mic pre's?

I have a pair of 460LA's that I really love. They are definitely thick and colorful. THE MAN for these is Dave Thomas - here's an email I saved when I was shopping these pre's: The M460 module was designed by Roger Beck to compete with the Neve 1081 modules during the mid 70's and was so successful ...

Re: payback's a bitch.....

That's awesome- though I don't love that classical music is being considered a deterrent! I like the idea of country music better! The whole field of music/psychology is so interesting. Don't most shopping malls pick their music based on stuff that will soothe customers and make them stay there long...

Re: Common practices with low cuts

I don't know about that 40HZ comment.... but I agree that you need to check out all the elements in your mix. Depending on the style of music (sorry if you mentioned that or gave an example, I missed it), guitars can be high passed around 100hz, and so can vocals, and some other instruments. Kick an...
