I live near Blue in Ventura County CA. A few months back I decided to gamble and bring my Blueberry by for service completely unannounced. They greeted me at the door, took the mic & my info and sent it back 100% fixed in about a week. They were a little surprised by me ambushing them but it ended u...

I run the O.G. Reamp with the Fulltone often while mixing. Since it's an instrument level device I've never attempted to run line level through it. I can say that it sounds great with instrument level in, then echo going back into a DI. For me has always been one of those things that "mixes itself"....

Euphonix-Avid just blew it
Got an email from Avid/Euphonix regarding a survey and it was openly addressed to 832 recipients, whom I can only assume are registered users. Let me be clear, when I say "openly addressed" I mean all of our email addresses are in the header. I know some of you if not all of you can understand why t...

FS/FT: Mono Gama SOLD
Sold
I have two SH Mono Gama 500 Mic pres that I haven't used since I bought them. Both are in great condition with no issues. I'm looking for either $500 each (price is firm) or trade for a pair of API 550A EQs and some cash from me. PM me if interested and we'll take it from there.

These things are special:

I just got the split output Reverbamate. I am really impressed. It's physically small considering how it sounds. That's a plus because I don't fancy another guitar head sized box taking up what little space I have. But it doesn't sound small.

If I had a time machine I would go to Jamaca in the 70s and take a couple hundred packs of fresh bass strings. Don't even joke about killing reggae like that. That James Jamerson had an awful bass sound, too. Maybe you'd like to fix that as well? Hehe. I was thinking the same thing. While you're at...

I think it's brilliant. On the road I travel with a Duet and and SM7 and haven't needed more than one channel. A built in mic is great for demoing too. If you only have one interface it may not be the best choice. It does depend on what you'll be recording and how far you want to take it. But someon...

That's a nightmare I've gone through a bunch. I've never found anything to help it once it's been recorded. The two most common fixes I end up at are playing in different positions on the neck (first) or using a different bass (second and usually the fix). Fortunately I've been playing Laklands for ...

Failure - Fantastic Planet. Recorded on ADAT, sounds amazing. One of my all time favorites. But in their case I think the performances and songwriting could shine through on any recording format. Couldn't you hear "Dirty Blue Baloons" blowing up a Maxell XL-IIS on a portastudio? I think it would st...

I record demos often. For me they've been sketches and drafts. Ten years ago every unsigned band had a demo. But ten years ago a demo could get you a record deal. I think the paradigm has shifted and anyone looking for a record deal will be severely disappointed. So, gone are the days of demos, deal...
