Dude, that sounds jive to me. Get in touch with Tony San Filippo (our very own TOMB moderator, drumsound) at Oxide Lounge in Bloomington, IL. He's an excellent drummer and recording engineer. I don't want to speak for Tony, but I'm sure he could probably get your record done for $1700 in his totall...

OK, its actually an extra 35 dollars to get the separate tracks, per song. So for 14 songs that would be an extra 490 bucks. its 125 per song regardless. I recorded 14 tracks of drums at my house w/ my drummer. We rehearsed everything over the course of manymonths. He has a really difficult time pla...

what do you guys think of this?

I am planning to use an online studio drummer in which you send the scratch tracks and they send back a stereo mixed drum track to use in your songs. You can pay 90 bucks extra to get all the tracks as opposed to just one stereo file. This is going to cost around 1700 bucks for an 14 song album, but...

Car subwoofer to my Computer, impedance???

I would like to check my mix for low end using a 12" enclosed sub for a car. I would be powering this with my yamaha PA system coming out of the crossover. Can I just buy those cables from radio shack that have a 1/4" on one end and two wires on the other, or do I need some sort of box to switch the...

I tell ya man, the sweetest sound I've gotten for an ac guitar preamp box when you're going DI from your acoustic to a board or DAW is the EHX 12AY7. Thanks for the input, I am running through an FMR RNP for my pre. It sounds pretty good. I have better preamps, but don't really want to gig with the...

Acoustic Guitar Pedals, Stompboxes. Anyone like a lot?

My brother and I are starting to play acoustic gigs pretty soon and are looking for things to fatten up our sound. Most of our tunes are pop rock songs. Anyone have anything they really like to use? I was looking at some boss, multi effect peds/modelers and am considering an AD-8. Right now, all I h...

Any Free Sample Rate Conversion tools that are any good?

I have to convert 48k down so I can burn onto cd. this is the first time I have done a project at a higher sample rate so I have never had to change anything before. Anyway, I searched around the net and found a few free programs, but really couldn't get any to work. Does anyone have a recomendation...

Re: OT: Only one for each category please

Best Album - Siverchair - Neon Ballroom
Best Concert - Silverchair freakshow tour.

Silverchair kicks ass, and Daniel Johns used to put ona really good show when they toured there first two albums.

Re: Anyone had a short run dup done by musicians friend?

Thanks for all the input guys! After wieghing out the pro's and cons of getting a short run vs. a 500 order, we decided it is better to pay the extra 400 dollars to have the disc's be of a higher quality, even though we are going to have about 300 cd's with nothing to do with. maybe we'll use them f...

Anyone had a short run dup done by musicians friend?

my band needs about two hundred cd's and want them to look high quality. We found somewhere that will make 500 for about a 1000. We only really need 200 though. All the places that will make 200 are seem of good quality are around 600-800 bucks. It almost seems like it is worth it to spend the extra...

Ended up spacing them out and using my staple gun. Thanks for the helping out even though it was a boring question. I appreciate it.

bunch of foam in closet needs to go on the walls, HELP!!!

out of pure disgust of the looks of my room using matress foam to help with the sound, I took all of it down and bought some studio foam from ebay. Right now I am only looking to record vocals in the room, my band does all of our real recording in a real studio but this time we are going to do the v...

Re: Distort that vocal!

I have an ART pro channel that has a led for how hard you are driving the tubes. I set the gain to taste, and vuo-lah!!! Great sounding distortion vocal for metal. Doesn't sound overly processed or anything. I also like to double it and pan them a little left and right, add's a nice effect when used...
