I can't really speak to who Bitch Slap is, as I would be breaking an NDA in which I am bound to secrecy. But I CAN tell you that The Daily Adventures of Mixerman will be coming out this Spring of 2009 on Hal Leonard's Backbeat Books imprint.
You still throw like a girl.

i recently finally had to reformat and tried the newest versino (intrepid ibex) and couldn't even get basic functionality. as it turns out, Pulseaudio, which is now the standard sound server for the distro, simply does not support the M-Audio Delta 1010 or any cards with the ice1712 chip. a) You sh...

Re: Email Advertising?

Since I've tried everything else, I'm thinking about compiling a list of local bands' email addresses and sending out a bulk email. Good idea? Bad idea? Bad etiquette? Has anyone tried this? I'd treat just like any spam if the message made it past my filters. Click the "Mark as Junk" button. That w...

I've gotten some neat sounds with ring modulation, flange and insane amounts of feedback on delay.

If you care to visit my website and listen to "Voice of the Rose" you can hear the results

Re: why is tapeop mag distribution so terrible?

i find it so strange that i never had a problem in nyc of all places, but yet in VA, not so good. i was hoping for it to improve once i moved, and had stayed put for a while, but alas, no. i figured i could buy the odd missing issue from plan 9, but even that isn't a sure bet, plus you have the who...

Re: linux recording

The biggest problem with Linux is that if you don't purchase your computer without doing a couple of hours homework on hardware compatibility, you could be out of luck when your cdr won't burn cds or your video card won't do 3d graphics or your sound card won't work (ie firewire... need to wait for...

Re: linux recording

Ardour is still progressing and while I feel that it's still a bit inaccessible to people with little Linux experience(can be a bear to set up ALSA, JACK etc.) If you've got a good fast machine (2GHz or better), The Demudi Live CD is a good way to go for experimenting with linux and audio. You put ...

Re: linux recording

I'm working with a linux DAW, and my results are compromised more with a lack of skill, rather than lack of competent software. I never have been able to get Win XP or Win 98 to behave well enough to get good results - even after months of studying and tweaking. I spent about an hour or so installin...
