Re: Tascam US-122 ... and latency
I'm using a US-122 w/ Adobe Audition 1.0 (CEP, more or less). In Options > Device Properties > Wave In, I have multitrack latency set to 18 ms and this works well with my computer (Dell D800 notebook, 1.3 GHz Centrino, 512 MB RAM, Win XP Pro). In the US-122 control panel, I think I have latency set ...

Re: Difference between e609 'flat' and e609 'silver'?
Has anyone tried the e609 Silver on "non-standard" applications like vocals or acoustic guitar? The SM57 has been used for those (and Daniel Lanois likes it on acoustic guitar); I'm wondering how the e609 compares.

Re: old guy needs help w/ video capture
PC or Mac? If PC, you'll need an analog capture card, a DVD burner, and software. This version of Pinnacle Studio 9 includes a card (you'd need to make sure it has an S-VIDEO port) and everything you need to edit and create the DVD format video. Add a burner and you're good to go. http://www.pinnacl...

Re: For those of us who can't go to TapeOpCon...
I don't feel the average Tape Op reader wants to spend money on anything. LOL! It'd be curious to know who the "average Tape Op reader" is (as I'm sure you guys would like to know as well, given the survey that's currently being conducted). Though you've got a certain share of professionals, ...

Re: For those of us who can't go to TapeOpCon...
I see people complaining about the price of the conference but they think a DVD would be $20.00? Whose going to bankroll this production? ... In an ideal world, we would find some super rich sponsor who had a couple of hundred thousand dollars to throw at this thing and it would be free for everyon...

Re: For those of us who can't go to TapeOpCon...
this way, no one will want to go in person. Perfect! why spend $600 when you can spend $20 Why go to a concert then? A DVD is cheaper than most nose-bleed seats and you can pause it anytime you need to go to the bathroom or get some nachos. [I'm guessing you're being facetious here.] I'm sure a few...

Re: Using VST stuff in Cool Edit Pro?
There's mention here of a "VST wrapper" that CEP/Audition is able to use. Is this any help?

Re: Tascam US-122 Help Please
I've had a US-122 for a couple weeks and tried the Cubasis VST that came with it--for about 30 minutes. It's not on my computer anymore. I found it too difficult to use and too limiting. I've been using Adobe Audition 1.0 ( http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html ) without any problems. I'v...

true, but these are the votes of the representatives. how many of us are guilty (myself included) of not contacting them and their offices (and passing the word before the vote) to let them know that we, as americans and as their constituents think this is a total horse-shit bill and no buisness of...

The bill passed with 391 in favor, 22 against. Of those who voted, that's nearly 95% in favor. Is it possible that this is an issue that transcends Republican/Democrat or right/left biases?

Re: USB Powered Sound Quality?
I've been using a Tascam US-122 interface (USB 1.1) on a Dell Latitude D800 notebook (WinXP, 1.3 GHz Centrino, 512 MB, 30 GB 4200 rpm hdd) for about two weeks. I've used Adobe Audition to record at 16/44.1 and, so far, I'm very pleased with the results. Like the m-box, the US-122 has direct monitori...
