Langvin DVC is right around your price I think - 2 good mic pres, two opto limiters, and a little e.q. very nice. My first really great mic pre was a mono manley 45 db. I still use it more than anything else I have ( ua-2610/ua2108/dan alexander) It just makes wood. good luck/have fun dave darling
