Thanks for the responses everyone -- my takeaway is that EQ isn't likely to solve the problem, which is good information to have. I think my best solution is just to monitor at super low volume and make sure to check mixes with other systems in other locations.
Thanks again!

Taming a terrible room with a small Mackie mixer?
For the near term, I've got a very sub-optimal monitoring situation, where my speakers are too close to the walls and corners in a small room and there's some sort of weird reflecting going on, causing the bass to sound really, really weird. Treating the room isn't really an option, unfortunately --...

Ha, thanks! That photo (and the ones below) were all taken with my trusty Canon S95, which is just an amazing little camera. Re: (not) being an electronics geek -- I had to do a search to confirm that what i thought was a cap was in fact a cap. :) Here are some more pics -- I'm not sure if the caps ...

Hi -- thanks for the reply. I opened it up again, and took another look. The power supply jack seems ok. I don't see any markings for power supply voltages -- I added a link to a photo of the insides -- and it took me a lot of googling to figure it out but I finally found 78M15 and 79M15 :). as far ...

Re: tools -- not much -- I do have a multi-meter, if that helps in any way. Re: fuse -- yeah, I popped it out of its bracket and I could see that the very very fine, wavy filament still intact, so I assumed it was ok, but if visual inspection isn't a reliable way of determining if it's dead or not, ...

oof - dropped my symetrix
I was cleaning my desk the other day, and clumsily managed to knock my symetrix sx-202 onto the carpeted floor. I figured these things are built like tanks so I didn't think much of it, but of course now it doesn't power up. I opened it up and don't see anything obviously broken, and the fuse seems ...

Thanks for the responses -- as clarification, this would be a series of self-promotional videos for a well-established design studio. They will probably be streamed mostly from the website, and the audience will primarily be potential clients and jobseekers. And yes, there is no upside financially t...

Licensing music for a corporate video - typical fees?
I'm in negotiations with a small company who wants to use some instrumental versions of a couple of our songs as music for two short corporate videos. They'd be internet streaming only. I'm amenable to the idea, but have no idea how much to charge them. They're a small company and I know many of the...

Rules for John Zorn's Cobra?
Hi,
Not sure which forum is the best for this question, but I'm looking for a copy of the rules for John Zorn's "game piece" Cobra. It is (surprisingly) not on the web anywhere, or if it is it is very well hidden. Was hoping someone here might have a copy of it...
Thanks
Han

Yeah, I wondered about that too -- I wasn't able to find anything on the adobe site that said one way or the other... Maybe Audition 3.0 has this functionality? It is supposedly out right now. The few times I looked into this I had to just make sure that the tracks all start at the beginning, So I f...
