All-guitars ambient release: re[dis]covery loops

My latest project is a break from song-based stuff, an ambient piece in four parts. All sounds were made by me and my Les Paul Studio (and a whammy pedal, a couple of delays, and a loopstation...). http://stolensheep.bandcamp.com/album/re-dis-covery-loops Check it out if you dig deliberate, slowly b...

I'm only halfway thru, but have to post something now. I'll follow up later. This is fantastic. That's all I've got so far. But yeah. You totally pulled off that "baby's" solo too. Not sure what I would have done when tasked with interpreting that one, but I don't think I would have touched it. Grea...

Thanks for listening, y'all! Haven't been on the board for a few weeks so i'm just now seeing the replies... I'm encouraged that people are downloading and digging this. Re: the bass on "Southern Man" - that was P-bass into the JoeMeek VC-6 - but all the punch comes from inside Logic (9): I added a ...

Funny thing - I just saw the title of this thread and "Warehouse" was the first album that came to mind, before I even clicked thru... I LOVE Husker Du but can barely stand to listen to their last 3 albums - for me, it's the mastering, on top of the reverb-itis they were plagued with. Just too freak...

Hey Dave- Been digging your stuff too! MK sent me the link for your excellent 3-track collab and I grabbed everything else there. Good work.

Also, I've found that the C1000 doesn't totally sound like ass when you stick it on a guitar amp. And it's half decent on acoustic rhythm tracks in a busy song if all I want is 2.5k+.

Thanks, guys. Glad to be able to share it. lukievan, I'd love to hear a Loaded cover if you get around to it. That would be hella fun to play. ott0bot, that sounds very much like my own initiation to the album. Thank goodness for parents with good taste in music. I couldn't ask for much better compa...

Recording notes....

Recording notes, if you're innarested. Recorded and mixed at home in Logic (though a couple of initial tracks were recorded on my old Roland 1680, which i just sold on ebay for a depressingly low price), using my standard arsenal of cheap gear... Vocals are mostly done with an Oktava 319 or SM57 thr...

"After After the Gold Rush" - full album covered,

This started as a couple of rough one-shot covers a couple years ago, that turned into a fun little spare-time project, then it got so fun that I spent more time working on it then my own stuff in the last couple months. Here's my version of Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush": http://stolensheep.ban...

Thanks for listening, guys. Any feedback/opinions are always welcome.

I've got a couple of other projects i'm finishing up that i look forward to sharing soon - that i feel might sound a little more cohesive, having been written/recorded so closely together.

Stolen Sheep / Sentinel of Disorder

Here's my no-budget project that took entirely too long to complete. http://stolensheep.bandcamp.com/ About 1/3 of this album was recorded on a Roland VS-1680, the rest recorded on an on Logic on an iMac G5 thru a Presonus Firepod. Fun with format changes was one thing that held me back; the fact th...

Man, this is great stuff. Perfect combo of acoustic/electro elements; still retains a nice intimate feel.

Thanks for making all this available for free public consumption. What a treat!

I just finished watching this film an hour ago. Wow, wow, wow. One of the best musical documentaries I've ever seen. HERE'S HOW TO SEE IT: If you have digital cable (or however else you can get "OnDemand"...I don't know how the whole system works), check your free movies and see if it's in there - S...
