Symetrix Mic Pres with Mods
I've got 2 Symetrix 528s up for sale. Both with the Monte McGuire / Scott Dorsey mods. In addition, all opamps in the EQ channels have been upgraded as well. They sound great. All opamps are now socketed, so you can easily switch out different varieties, just by popping them in and out (no soldering...

Let's suppose you're getting married. Your fiance's parents are footing the bill for the photographer. They give you six grand to take care of the pictures. They don't specifically tell you how to spend that six-K. But one would be safe to assume that they expect you to hire a wedding photographer. ...

I don't know if we were all reading the same thread or not ... ... but I didn't find any of the comments in the least bit "discouraging." How hyper-sensitive do you have to be to think that? No one is telling this guy not to pursue his hobby of recording. No one is telling him he can't do a good job...

Huh ? ?brad347 wrote:I do know that the incredibly fast slew rates of most vacuum tubes contribute to what we all know and love about tube gear versus solid-state. That's what kind of got me thinking/wondering.

 Waters definitely got the sour end in the press but he WAS the essence of the band post-Syd as far as I'm concerned. Gilmour's guitar and voice was nice, but he was never in a position to move Floyd anywhere good post-Waters and should have left well enough alone--their recorded material pos...

I know what ya mean. I'm sick and tired of sending messages via morse code. And I think it's high time I get me one of those fancy things called telephones. I'm also thinking of trading in my kerosein lantern. Anyone know of any good sources for an electric light? It has to be close enough to where ...

I have mixed feelings about this, moreless. If this is an actual attempt to maintain the integrity and sound of the original Valley People gear, then I think it's a great idea. If, on the other hand, it's going to be similar to the Joemeek deal where the brand name is kept alive mostly for marketing...

OK I checked and on the Google cached copy of the old CAD site, I found a page that definitely says the M37 is US made. http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:QeFK-XXrzsYJ:www.cadmics.com/m37.htm+CAD+M37+Made+in+USA&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a It's right under where the picture should b...

What I liked about Birch was that all of the records he produced sounded great, sonically. And some of the most classic albums from that era just happened to have his name on them. Yet at the same time, you could never really listen to any of them and say, "Oh yea, that sounds like a Martin Birch th...
