Well the cheaper the better. I could control a module with the Korg but the less to stuff to haul around and deal with the better...I've already got guitars, amps, etc. I would love something super portable like the casio cz 101>i know it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but can it fake some st...

Synth help
First off I'm mainly a guitar player who dabbles with keyboards in the studio. I'm joining a band that wants to add some keyboards to the mix. I've got a Korg Ms2000 which I mainly use in the studio. I'm looking for a smallish keyboard that could do some decent piano/rhodes/wurli/organ stuff as well...

Just one mic?
Might try an Audio Technica 4033.These are popular among Bluegrass bands and are used live quite a bit.
I've heard some decent MD recordings done with a ?sony stereo mic...one of those all in one jobbers.

Re: Sell CD's or give them away????
I would probably at least try to sell a few...even if it's an ep. Maybe like 3-5 bucks and throw in a sticker or whatever. That being said I would also have a low threshold for giving some away (especially if it's a "demo") to the right people and concentrate on getting the full length out in the fu...

Re: recording in a rehearsal room which mics to use?
Yeah,
I've made plenty of "ghetto" live recordings with a couple of PZM...usually find a good spot in the room, slap 2 pzms up and go.I almost always am surprised by how good it ends up sounding for like 5 mins of work.

Re: Anyone in Chattanooga here?
Cost of living would be pretty reasonable.
There are a few cool bars/places to play. The Downtown area has been revitalized in the last few years and is pretty cool.
Not real sure about the Music scene/recording scene.I'm sure there are a few small studios around but other than that...

Re: recording in a rehearsal room which mics to use?
1 or 2 Radio Shack Pzms can sound pretty good for this. You can mount them on plywood of plexiglass for a better bass response, but I've had good results just sticking up the Pzms in the room and rolling tape.
