Fuck.

The world was a better place with him in it. 59. What a loss.

Pop country makes me want to grab a gun and climb a tower. At least (some of) the contestants on American Idol can actually, like, sing. Kenny Chesney wouldn't exist if not for autotune. And then there are the songs, which are meant to appeal to the dumbest cross-section of humanity... Speaking of a...

...yes, very springsteen-esque vibe on alot of these. but springsteen has never tackled anything this morbidly dark, end of the world etc Ever listened to Nebraska? The title song is about a spree killer; "State Trooper" is the scariest fucking song I've ever heard. I really like the "anthem" quali...

The best (and most obvious) advice I can give you is make sure you do whatever you can to get the best performance from the band. If this means letting them stand in a circle, do it. If it means lots of bleed, just roll with it. Bluegrass is such a "live" form of music that it often doesn't transfer...

I have the blue alnico speakers in my AC30cc, and I love them. Most people seem to agree that the blues are a big part of the Vox sound. FWIW. Also, some people just switch out one of the speakers with an alnico. Best of both worlds, maybe. One thing about these speakers though--they really need to ...

If it was done the way every Superbowl halftime show in recent memory has been done, everything was canned except the guitar and vocal. Which is fine with me...showbiz.

It's interesting how some people liked the vocals and guitar way up in the mix, and some didn't. I'm a guitar player, so I liked it.

The point of a rant is to rant. There's nothing to "get." And me ranting about the VMA's after watching the show isn't all that different from you ranting about my post after having read it. There are lots of threads on this board to click on. I'm just tired of the ubiquitessness of black nail polis...

I've had it with these moody dropped D bands...

I've had it with all these moody bands with their 600 dollar haircuts, black nailpolish and perfectly dyed facial hair who think they're so hardcore just because they tune down and play their pussy songs through a Mesa Boogie penta rectifier or whatever. Didja see that mtv VMA's last night? Hey, god...

I did a project using perfboard once, and it was a total effing nightmare. I did get it to work, but cutting handmade leads to length, bending, routing and getting everything to hold in place when you try to solder it apparently requires a level of skill I don't have. I haven't used PnP yet, but I p...

Modern Les Pauls just overpriced--we're taling 2K for a Standard. Gibson has for the most part stopped building guitars for the average musician. Their customers are mostly dentists who buy les pauls to put in their den. The exception might be some of their more mid to low range guitars. I bought an...

Karen Carpenter's voice is sexy as hell. That song Christina did, "Beautiful" is a wonderful, wonderful song. She didn't write it, but still. I heard Elvis Costello cover it once. 2 more words: Kelly Clarkson. I don't know about her records so much, but she's a hell of a rock vocalist. Kathleen Hann...
