I bought it, used it, then switched to mixing in Reaper. I wasn't comfortable with having to set it up and ping all the time. It also freaked out on me in front of a client one time (admittedly it was probably user error on my part - and if it was a bug, its probably been fixed by now as it was a pr...

I've done some preliminary bench tests of a doorbell transformer. It'll be fine for audio. Huge cores, so it'll have great bass response. It had a resonance at about 20kHz, but we sould be able to squish it with a Zobel network. The one I've been tinkering with also has steel end bells, which will ...

WTB: Shure 545: MC4M -> XLR cable?

Im looking for a cable a Shure 545s I picked up recently. The cable needs to have a 4 pin MC4M connector (I think) wired to an XLR. Cable length isnt that important.

Thanks!

Anyway, they might also be called the "Rast" http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/22234_PE094189_S3.jpg I assembled one of these a few years back. Instead of putting in rack rails, I just used a small strip of wood on either side. Some people will scoff at the non usage of rack rail, but on the plus side ...

Thanks for the replys everyone.

After reading this I may let it be for now (unless I go back and they cut me an unreal deal). Maybe I will be keep my eyes open for a PM-180 though. I dont have a lot of room, and a rack mount unit would make more sense for my situation... Hmmm....

Thanks!

Yamaha PM-700

Today while messing around in a used store I happened upon a used PM-700 for a couple hundred bucks. I havent bought it yet, but im tempted.... After reading about how the PM-1000 preamps were really cool, I was wondering how do these compare with the PM-1000? Is it hard to add a direct out? How har...

Hmmm... Weird. With the way that dude liked to yell all the time I figured it more likely he would be fronting a metal or punk band. I also thought piano ballads were more of a Vince Offer thing.

Who knew.

I just don't understand if your studio is so busy that you need an intern... why don't you pay them at least minimum wage? I don't get it.... I have no problem with the starting at the bottom and doing the shitty work (including the cleaning of toilets or cutting the grass, someone has to do it), b...

The Sytek... yah, thats definitely a consideration. The money is kinda tight here, but still.

Xonlocust, good idea on the manual. I checked and its not in there. Oh well... It was still a good suggestion. When you say you are using them on guitars, do you mean electric or acoustic?

Thanks.

Two DMP3's, one rack space.

Will two DMP3's fit mount on a one rack space shelf? I know they take more than 1U of space in height, but how are they for width? Maybe before I get two carried away asking that, are these things all they are cracked up to be? I am looking for four more pres to fill out my Digi003/Digimax LT setup,...
