Conrad's "Nostromo" is a good slice of classic sci-fi. Anyone who enjoyed the 'Alien' films might like to check it out.

i was just trying to think of a book to start reading , i want one thats a 'classic' i guess like you know a book you think EVERYONE should read at one point in their life... any suggestions? Catcher in the Rye is cool. I just read Tim O'Brien's "In the Lake of the Woods" and a bunch of Pynchon/Car...

I have Television's Venus/Prove It 7" (not rare, just ace) uhm... pretty enamoured with my "Wowee Zowee" double LP ... Twinkie "T-k 1" single, found in a charity shop...mindblowing... oh yeah, every Beach Boys comp I own. There's too much..I can't live without music, full stop! Rare stuff always see...

I agree with the above points- i.e, I tend to gloss over any production quibbles I may have and bask in the glory of Frank Black's songwriting genius. I'd probably plump for Surfer Rosa over Trompe le Monde or Bossanova though.
