Does a 464 for $200 sound reasonable. How does that stack up against a 424 MKIII?

Panning Techniques
For traditional, say Wilco sounding stuff, how are things traditionally panned? I gotta mix something like that and I'm kinda lost on the panning aspect. Any hard, fast advice?

Re: How do you keep the hi-hat from bleeding into the snare
Yeah it is. So I guess I have two questions. When the damage is done and it's already recorded, how do you fix that?
And, the other question would be, how do you set up the mikes during tracking so you won't have that problem?
Thanks!

It sucks. I wanna cut the hi-hat and boost the snare, but it's just not happening. Is there some magic-eqing I can do?

Are there any very basic Synth tutorials anyone can point me in the direction of? Even a normal book I could pick up at a store th...

Re: How to make Bad Dudes sound Tougher?
That would be awesome if someone tried reamping or messing with the mix. If that wouldn't be too much of an imposition, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: How to make Bad Dudes sound Tougher?
First off thanks for all the help and kind words. I really appreciate it. Yeah I know there's the video game bad dudes, but that's honestly not what we we're going for.... I think the video gamyness is due to the fact that the music is kind of classical (we wanted that to be in a melodramatic blonde...
