Re: How do you store analog tape?

hey magritte, you can let it play to the end and then store, or FFW it close and jog the transport close to the end w/o it flying off.

Re: Digi 002 ,alesis hd 24 or other ?

imo, transferring files is a pain in the a$$. why not get both, try 'em both out, and return the one that isn't working for you. if you are buying new, and you can, do take advantage of a 'big' store's satisfaction guarantee.

QUAD Studios - NYC

Has anyone else caught wind that QUAD is following in the footsteps of Unique, and soon closing their doors?

Two major NYC studios in as many months. Damn shame.

Re: seeking computer wisdom!

IMO, pro tools was designed with the engineer in mind. it has two windows to work with, and its laid out best for recording music - no unecessary bull. if you're running synths, midi, and recording dance tracks, pt probably isn't the best option for your money.

Re: more mixing outta the box

IMO, get rid of the 'crackie'. you're better off just using your motu due to crappy pres and lots of noise that they generate. definitely sell it, save up, and buy a better console.

Re: USB/MIDI Latency Question.

i believe he can go keys>midiport>computer

if the midiport connects usb, there's the connection to the pc. you don't necessarily need to go midi out if you've got one keyboard. it would be the only controller, and sending midi data to your pc to convert to audio. done deal.

Re: TS vs. TRS connectors

go with the TRS connectors, both should work and you'll be set for future balanced applications.
