Capacitors: Polyproprolene and ployester
Hello,
What are the differences between metalised polyproprolene and metalised ployester capacitors?
I would like to use one type for low frequency roll off but can't decide whih is better.
Anyone know?

Re: How was Pet Sounds redone in stereo?
It depends on which stereo mix you are talking about.
The first stereo remix is not a favorite of mine of one reason.
On WOULDN'T IT BE NICE Brian Wilson's vocals replaces Mike Love's.
Do a comparison of the two on the CD that contains both mono and stereo mixes.

Can you recommend a good, older pro unit from the 1950s-earl
I wood venture to guess, J.C. Penny's run of the mill everyday consumer stuff of the time. Old Ampex ect. are so inexpencive now, you should stick with the pro unit's. Although it might be good for dectoration ? IMHO Can you recommend a good, older pro unit from the 1950s-early 1960s era? How much ...

Ampex, Struder, Sony and ... Pentron?
Hello, There are many different, well known brands of Reel to Reel recorders. Some of the classics are Ampex and Struder. However, going back earlier than those is the Pentron brand. I am now noticing a few late 1950s - early 1960s batchlor pad "Hi-Fi" era Pentrons on eBay and recently got a nice on...

Re: Urine Smell: How to get rid of it on elecronics?
Thanks for the advise. The organ is a Hammond J-112. Just a home, living room practice organ. Apparently nothing special. Someone at the other boards suggested the janitor enzymes method. Since I already have a bottle I will try that. This thing is really too heavy. I am going to bust it apart and m...

Urine Smell: How to get rid of it on elecronics?
I tried to find a forum at this site that was more approprite but this was the best I could find. I ask at tapeop.com because I am sure that a few here have found audio equipment in a simular condition. By a stroke of luck while driving around late last night I saw at the curb waiting for the garbag...

Re: Just bought an early/mid 1960s r to r recorder. Now wha
Thanks for the replies. I'll post pictures later on. The machine is from about 1959 or 1960. I figure that out since the contents of the reels do not predate those years. There is no info on this unit on the web nor is it being sold in eBay auctions. It is a stereo unit but the hitch is if you want ...
