every store in KC (well, okay, the 3 I went to) had pulled all Windows 7's from the shelves. Big empty slot where the Windows 7's were, big full slots full of Windows 8. Wouldn't sell me a copy. I'm not saying you couldn't get it SOMEWHERE, but when I called Microsoft tech support, they could only f...

OH, I should add this:

There is no 'official' support for Windows 8 from Waves, or MOTU. Reaper, I think, did. Or maybe MOTU did but Reaper didn't...anyway, point being, the Windows 7 drivers seem to work flawlessly on the new OS.

Windows 8. Was kind of forced into it; Wow it works well.

So, I was basically forced into running Windows 8 on my DAW. I've been running 64 bit Vista, bought some Waves plugs that required Windows 7 so I loaded it. However, I didn't have the bread to buy a new one, so I used install discs from a different computer in the house. About a month later, I got a...

I use the polarity flip trick a lot in live sound, usually when stage volume is proving difficult for me to get the vocals out front. I don't exactly get HOW it works, but a lot of the time, flipping the polarity on the lead vocal will make it pop right out front without turning it UP. It doesn't AL...

pretty good. Super kitschy, but good.

I guess we picked the right time to go through; this week would've been tough, huh?

I mostly lurk, unless there's something I feel knowledgeable enough about to contribute.

count me in on the RE-20. LOVE IT. Tap works great, love the idiosyncratic speed up/slowdown simulations, love the way the high end rolls off so that you never get in the way of your unaffected signal. I also have a Danelectro Reel-echo in line, it's not tappable, but it also sounds good. I use that...

Wheatstone 8X 32 channel recording console

This works, could use some TLC (scratchy pots, switches, etc.) with full cabling to 3 96 pt. tt patchbays and a 12-13 channel parts board. socketed IC's, three band fully sweepable EQ's. I'm just looking for something smaller/newer. asking $1,250. I'm not shipping it, you'll have to come and get it....

I'm a Fender type guy; that being said, i don't like ANYTHING they make currently outside of a few of the reissues and custom shop guitars, which are horribly overpriced. So now I build my own to my own specs, with the pickups I like (Fralins or Lollars depending) the necks I like (big v's) the hard...

I have one, it's in very good cosmetic shape, heads look great, with remote. Transport works; and you can control it somewhat with remote, but the remote won't go into record. So there's a little wiring issue between the deck and the remote. I'd sell it, but I have no idea how you'd get it, I'm in K...

don't know. But they aren't constructed the same way. They won't fit. I suppose if you wanted to dissassemble and drill out holes in the backplate you could do it, but not me.
