A Brain Twister
I met a fellow who is having some problems. He bought a new PC a couple of months ago and is using Sony Sound Forge to record some karaoke songs for himself. He runs all of his music and mics through a little Yamaha 8 channel mixer and uses the RCA outs to go into his computer. If you "properly" inc...

The thing with the NS10s is that they are the "pro" monitor that most closely resaembles the average "consumer" speaker. Essentially they are the industry standard "crappy" speaker. If your mix sounds good on the NS10s it will probably sound decent on any home stereo, car stereo, alarm clock radio, ...

Otari MX5050 operations manual
I happened upon an old Otari MX5050 8 track machine a couple of years ago. A fella that i know wanted me to show him how to use it, he brought it over and left it with me for two years so I adopted it. I haven't heard from him since. He bought it off of ebay for like 600 bucks with no owners manual....

That's for sure. I saw them a few years ago in Berkeley and they were totally badass. Not the original lineup though, really only Art and Cyril Neville were there. They have played some reunion shows with the original lineup and Zigaboo Modeliste plays in the S.F. area sometimes. So is Allen just a ...

The Meters
I was looking through the archives and back issues and I didn't see anything that has been on The Meters or Allen Toussant. They are one of the greatest and probably most unrecognized funk bands of the late sixties and early seventies. I hear there music sampled all the time by hip hop artists. I'm ...

On the Control 24 each channel I believe has it's own insert and send button. It's been a while. But if you hit the insert button then the assign button you can then choose the insert you desire. Hit assign to confirm then you can control all of the parameters from the board. It's all about effecien...

Actually I am talking about inserting a plug-in within Pro Tools, not externally. I just want to know about a control (a button or two) on the console that will insert, for example, a compressor onto a channel. I want to control the entire session from the 002 with the exception of opening and closi...
