I can do another take where I think of my voice as coming out of my face instead of my throat (sounds weird I know) and get a "higher" (which is really to say less lower harmonics and at most extreme slightly more nasal) sound while singing the same notes, and more in tune. It doesn't sound weird a...

There isn't anything that is going to give you more flexibility than REAPER. Work through the 'wacky' parts of the interface. With this type of setup, you can save a Track or project Template and have it all setup in less than a second. Also I think REAPER is the only DAW on the planet that you can ...

Singer / engineer here. Sometimes I will hold the pop filter - and just stick in in front of my face on the plosives. I much prefer the sound of the mic without it. Sometimes I pretend it's a tambourine and rock out with it, which is rather hilarious. not recommended with those frameless metal ones....

I think there is a heartfelt melody in there somewhere, and possibly some interesting lyrics. "when the tide rolls in I'll be hanging around your neck" do I have that right? I also like how it builds with that snare. although that may be because we are starved for something to happen by the time we ...

Remixed "Letter from a canary" http://soundcloud.com/james-eure/letter-from-a-canary-remix Re-arranged a bit in the intro. (ok well, a lot, just a bit over 4 minutes now, how unusually concise for me! lol) Still struggling with the kick a bit, I don't have a big booming system to test this on, but I...

Thanks for the listen(s) @ Nick. Thanks. I really appreciate that. It's the thing I'm working on most these days, must be on the right track. @ ipressrecord I think I do tend to bury the kick drum - or maybe it's more that I always have a lot of stuff happening in the low end and it just gets washed...

heavy metal tenor - great song. I left some comments for ya. I like what i've heard, cool stuff. I like a lot of those changes in "small town wheels" - drums were too roomy for me, cymbals too loud - vocal could be a bit better in spots, but I think it's good. "Friend I know" - this one I don't like...

I really like "Depravity (Demo)"

reminds me of ennio morricone, and the Legend of Zelda

besides, I'm a sucker for anything not in 4/4.

OK got the Hafler P1000 today. This is/was a new unit. Defiantly looks it, i.e. no scratches at all. the power cord looked to never have been undone from it's twist-tie. The face and top are a little dirty though which is curious. Like the box was open for a while - I dunno. I'm listening/ testing i...

I think this is PC only, so if you are a MAC. Well, maybe you have a PC to use too. http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ I have used this before and it worked quite well. I had a drive that was hanging while running this utility cause it was getting wayyyy too hot. I put the drive in a ziploc bag and put it...

Yeah there are no hard and fast rules, to me that's the perfect reason to make your own rules! I went LCR a few years back and I really like it. I track with it in mind, recording mostly with stereo setups, with sometimes intentionally "imperfect" stereo images, especially on acoustic instruments. C...

Well, you need to normal (or half-normal something) ! You should be able to configure your bay(s) so that you don't need to have anything patched in to make a recording. As drawn you will always have dozens of cables hanging out the front. you really don't want that. Or need to even buy that much ca...

I'm short stacked with only about 11 Big Blinds left. Steve has been quiet after getting the early chip lead, but now has lost the chip lead to Sully from Godsmack who flopped a full house to double up through Steve's nut flush. I suspect Steve is now on tilt. Should I push all in? And what compress...

If I have a middle pair on the button and it's an unraised pot do you suggest I limp in with my Art MP, hoping to trap if I make a set, or should I raise it up to something like GT Brick and try to push some hands out of the pot? GOod luck with the event! You're gonna want to play that hand heads u...
