Putting it in a metal case to "ground" it isn't going to do anything. Are you sure that thing runs on 9V? Nope, not sure at all. I was just kind of hoping it would work. Like I said, I'm not an expert... It may take a bipolar supply, something like + and - 18V. I think my friend has a multimeter, I...

HA! I had one of those too. I left it on top of the dumpster when I moved. I would guess you could yank the phaser out, it should have 2 power lines (the voltage of which you can measure with multi meter) a pos in and a pos out and most likely got ground from physical anchoring or it may have wires...

Univox Compac 2 electronic piano phaser ->guitar stompbox

Hey folks... I've had this Univox electronic piano collecting dust for a while: http://www.univox.org/pics/keyboards/compac2.jpg At one point it was working, but some solder joints went bad & there are circuit traces that need repairing...it pretty much sounded like crap when it was fully functional...

OK, maybe that wasn't very clear...there is a knob on the unit to control the amount of reverb added to the signal, but turned all the way up, the signal being sent into the reverb is still clear. What I want to do is something like the sound you get from a Boss digital reverb pedal, when the reverb...

Adding blend control to spring reverb

Hey all, I recently acquired a Pioneer SR-101 tube spring reverb unit...I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to add a pot to blend the wet & dry signal. Could it be as easy as tapping the input & output and panning between them? It seems to make sense right now, but I've thought that before... Gu...

a $15 female-XLR to male-1/4" transformer (which is really just a DI in reverse) from Rat Shack, and if you're really ambitious, a Rolls Phantom Power supply (about $40) will get the signal from your condenser into that 1/4" input. Yeah, I've thought about that, but there's no way to get power to t...

Teac 3340 operating manual/service manual?

I was wondering if anyone out there had an operating manual or service manual (or both) for a Teac 3340S that they wouldn't mind sharing? Maybe in electronic format, like a .pdf or something? I'd like to know how to service it & so on....also, I've had it for years and never knew what the "EQ" and "...

Re: Need help rewiring Sony cardioid condenser with XLR

Oh man, do I feel stupid....there was this really obvious screw in the middle of the case...i opened it up & inside there was a corroded AA battery! Luckily, it didn't seem like it leaked on the guts of the mic. I dug out Tape Op issue 1 (old school), and found the PZM mic article with the balanced ...

Well...no, actually I just assumed it was. Assuming you're correct, how would I wire it up? Thanks for the quick reply by the way...

Need help rewiring Sony cardioid condenser with XLR

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I had a question...I have an old Sony cardioid electret condenser mic (ECM-95S) that came with a two-track reel to reel tape recorder. It's square, and has two plugs on the end of a hard-wired cable. One is 1/8 inch, an...
