RTV Silicone. I used to work for a pretty famous pro audio manufacturer, we used it for mounting filter caps to the chassis of tube mic press. It helps with micro phonics as well.

I've been reconfiguring my home studio around a 5050 MKiV. What kind of budget do have? Do you want a proper desk with faders or a rackmount mixer? Right now I'm using an Ashly MX 508 (same thing as MM 508) It's an excellent box and they can be had quite cheap. Pres and EQ are really really good, st...

I've had some interest but haven't sold it yet. Feel free to make an offer.

Oh Internets, well that's good to know. I think the dynacord will keep me covered for now but if I come across a lexicon I can't pass up, well I won't pass it up.

I picked up a Dynacord DRP 15 this afternoon. Not a lot of info out there but people compared it to the nicer lexicon units so I figured I'd give it a try. I haven't had a lot of time to mess with it but so far so good. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but I think it sounds very natural,...

Cool, never heard of zereotronics I'll check it out. Chris, thanks so much for posting the links, obviously it's hard for me to separate what's mic technique, actual room, and added reverb but it does help provide some context. I was just watching some bricasti videos, $3700 is still out of my price...

Maybe I'm insane, but I've always felt like it was pretty easy to dial in a "natural sounding" verb on my Yamaha Rev 7. In fact, there are only a couple of verbs on it that sound really over the top. (Unless you tweak parameters to the extremes.) The way I look at it, the Rev 7 is a room simulator....

Chris (or any one else for that matter), I noticed you've got some nice reverbs, and I've noticed you've recorded lot's of bands. Could you post links to some tunes that you feel showcases the Sony, Klark Teknik or what have you? Have you considered something other than a digital unit? Do you have a...

There's a few DN-780's on ebay all around $1500, but with nobody bidding on them. And the Sonys seem to be going for around $300, which seems like a good deal. I'm picking up that reverb is not going to be a one and done thing, so LOTS of great pieces to look out for. After that review I'm definitel...

perhaps the ensoniq dp/2 or dp/4 I missed a few replies, I was curious about these, there's one on ebay but I have no idea what a fair, or average price would be. In general i'm all about the dark horse candidates, but I've been thinking that an advantage to something like a pcm lex or eventide is ...

I just don't really like plugins, I think they sound great I just don't like the act of using software very much. So to hopefully better explain my predicament... Tracking to an Otari Mx5050, through the above mentioned gear, mixing through a really strange piece... it's this korean clone of a stude...

awesome thanks for the advice, I think in my mind I was like, "I should get a reverb unit, I should find a good one and that'll be that" but it seems like a lot folks go for variety. There's a used mpx100 at a samash near me that's really cheap. I'm really split on the r880, people like it, it seems...

Help me choose an appropriate reverb unit

Hi folks, I'm shopping for a hardware reverb unit, I've been poking around the various "best reverb" threads. My issue is I'm not really sure what my budget should be. I have a small-ish collection of fairly nice gear... -mics, peluso 2247, beyer ribbons, and a few studio work horses. -pre's, drip R...
