Re: Vox AC30 or Fender Twin...
Fender Twin! or Deluxe if you must. The Deluxe can get a little brittle sounding sometimes with certain pickups. The Twin likes everything I throw at it. It interacts very well with all the pedals I've ever tried. Kicks the Vox ass IMO! I should know. I own a 1971 Twin and used to own an AC-15, AC-3...

Re: fugazi albums
Steady Diet and Repeater are my favs also because they kind of represent two different sides of Fugazi. One of the most awesome bands ever! Been listening since I was 14 years old!

Yeah, Austin. Austin would be great! It got tons of musicians and studios.

Re: ART pro mpa
I like the TPS very well. It's nice and clean and the "valve" setting is nice. I have used the Pro MPA in the past and it's about the same. Not as good as my Bellari stuff, but real decent for the money.

Re: What Did You Work On Today? 3-31-04
I've been installing new partitions and a new console in my studio. I also worked on mixing some country singer/songwriter again. That was on computer since my analog tape and console are down at the moment.

Keep it in New Orleans! I think that's the best idea. Also Dallas wouldn't be too bad. For a southern city, it's further north than NOLA too. But I'd like to see it stay in NOLA. I think that's for the best.

Re: MCI JH110B
Wow! That's a great deal on the tape machine. Sounds like it doesn't need much to run right. Probably adjust the transport, clean, demag, and align it and it'd be OK. The transport issue might need parts to be resolved though.

Re: Is my tape machine floating?
Tape machines don't like to follow the computer as well as a computer will follow a tape machine. Unless it's a high dollar analog machine with serious sync built in, that's tough to do without problems. Always better to use the analog machine as master in a sync situation. PPS-2s are esy to get che...

Re: '70s Fender Deluxe Reverb vs. '65 Deluxe ReIssue
I have a 1971 Silverface Twin and I love it compared to all the other amps I've owned. I think it sounds better for my style of music than my friends "real" 65 Deluxe.

Those are pretty right on except OK Computer. I love the Tourist and some others but I don't think it's as great as Revolver. The rest of your choices I agree with actually.

Uh-huh. I like it! Don't forget Jimmy Page. One of the most influential guitarists ever! Page was also at least partially responsible for the drum production on the later records. There was some cool info about recording "When the Levee Breaks" in the Andy Johns article last issue.

They do have a clip. It's a slim little clip. Shouldn't cost more than $7 or $8 to replace.

Re: "Matching Instruments" and Recording Reverb
For drums I like to have some room ambiance and then pick a similar sounding reverb in my Roland SRV-2000 reverb if I need more of it. SRV-2000 makes an awesome drum 'verb!
