Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Otari MX-70 with no remote. Bummer. Teac 80-8 in working condition but needs restoration, Interface Electronics/Stevenson 200 series with 200B modules and 200M master module, and a bunch of dbx Type I units. I have my work cut out for me. I haven't posted in awhile but I'm back due to FB groups not ...

Yes. It's not installed anymore but is still being stored in my climate controlled studio.

Re: Your favorite general use eq plugin

I tend to use the Slate Neve EQ or ReaEQ for more surgical purposes.

FS: Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 24 channel

Topaz.jpg I am selling an excellent Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 with meterbridge. This is the later non Miami Vice color scheme. Come with the power supply which is working with no issues. The console itself is in excellent condition. No bad channels and everything is working well and sounding great...

Sold: Carvin MX2488

I have a Carvin studio console, model MX2488 for sale. The console comes in a nice road case but doesn't look like it was ever toured. Very clean condition and comes with the power supply but no power supply cables. It was last used in 2016 and everything was working. After a move, I lost the power...

I bought the first two versions but I haven't used it that much so I probably won't buy this update. It does sound really good but I could never get used to it I guess.

Why not create a template in Reaper instead of using 2 programs? I like mixing ITB when I'm too lazy or know the client will wants lots of changes, edits, FX automation, etc. I mix OTB through a Soundtracs Topaz when I want the workflow and sound of that console. I have my setup where I can do eithe...

I'm using Audio Studio Manager for invoicing and estimates. It also lets you put in all your gear and the condition etc for record keeping. It's Mac only and available in the App Store. I have to use other accounting software for taxes but this keeps the schedule, billing, and gear organized.

I still use the RNC on vocals in Super Nice mode. I'll use the LA-10 on really strong singers with more dynamics but the RNC did that pretty well too before I got the LA-10. As far the Ramsa console is concerned, I do have several other consoles and have had many others to give a semi comparison. Th...

I have an LA-10. I have never had a better, more versatile compressor for the money. It handles bass, vocals, guitars, and anything else I throw at it. I only wish I had another or an LA-12 stereo version. The LA-10 is a fantastic compressor IMHO. So I'm firmly on the love it side I guess you could ...

I have a lot of different headphones but I mainly stick to Equation RP-21s for mixing. They are comfortable and seem to have a fairly flat response. I also have Sennheisers and AKGs but I like these better overall.

I traded for a very nice Soundtracs Topaz 24. This is the second Topaz I've owned and I am very glad to have another. For the money, these consoles really sound great! I won't be replacing the Topaz again. Last time, I got a Ghost afterward and it was great but overall I think I prefer the Topaz.

That made my day right there. Better than all the memes I've seen this month put together.

Got an ART TPS(original first version) for free. I already swapped the tube out but I'm not sure if I'm going to use it much as I have some better pres. I figured for free, spare preamps aren't bad to have around at least. I know there are mods for the TPS II but very little on the TPS. It looks pre...

I love me some 192 MP3's. Way better than 128 or 96. But if you use Beats phones you don't really even need dubly anymore.
This quote just made my day! I don't have anything that goes to 192, oh wait, yes I do. I just don't use it.
