So it's the Sennheiser 602 I have wanted to try replacing my Beta 52 applications with and see how that goes!

I love the ATM25, but you'll find it too balanced for most of what you record. I find the D6 pretty similar to the Beta 52A, but lacks a bit of tightness/lowend focus in comparison. I too am looking to possibly replace 52s with something else should it make sense... There was one I thought might be ...

Pearl Priorty Microphone For Sale - Reduced to $500 Shipped

Bought this brand new for a project not very long ago. The project is now complete. Used on a just a few sessions. It's brand new, but opened. Best price I've seen is over $750 new. If you've ever wanted to try the unique rectangle capsule, it's a great time! $500 shipped.

Best Mic Quick-Release System

After 20-years of owning studios, I've never used a single quick release... It's time for that to change! Which is the best? Thanks!

FS: Stedman N90 - $75 Shipped In US.

Large-diaphragm side-address dynamic mic. Ultra-smooth ribbon mic type of response. Pretty hard to find now. No case. In good working condition, but not the best looking condition. Grill is all dented up and the internal foam is all twisted up inside; exposing some of the capsule. It came this way w...

I just looked and the SSL compressor kit is probably 95% complete and other than the solder and maybe a couple mounting screws, everything should be there to complete it. The meter, pots/switches and connector holes are drilled and labeled. The PCBs are populated, the meter and connectors are mounte...

Drewtronics Sherlock and SSL Compressor Projects FS

The Sherlock is still in the same state as when I bought it new from Drew so many years back. Anyone want to put it together? The SSL compressor project is near-complete. It's been a very long time since I've even looked at it, but if anyone is interested, I'll let you know exactly where the project...

I agree with Nick, but I'd rather a Jim Williams mod if going that route myself... He's not doing mic mods anymore however, but he may help you with how to go about it; he's very open with the DIY community. Great guy! Another option I like is a Bock 195; also no longer made however. I'd like to giv...

In that price range (or any), I'm definitely a KSM32 fan! I don't like the KSM44 nearly as much!

Haven't tried any Peluso mics, definitely one to consider, but in that $2k price-range, for just a bit more you could find a Manley Reference Cardioid on eBay. I personally like the new Luke Audio mics. You could get one of the Beesneez mics. You could get more custom with a JJ Audio mic or have som...

Exactly Jim... I have 3 of Tim's CT12s and 2 more on the way... I personally no longer care about owning an original CK12 capsule from a sound-perspective. With that said, if the cost of an original CK12 is like $400 in your budget or mindset, you still will not regret an original; should you buy on...

An original or their current model? And how old if the later? Worth the asking price? It's all perspective, but if you can afford it, then yes! Where else to look? In today's world, there are a huge bunch of serious contenders to consider everywhere you look! Still, after using at least a hundred di...

DB25 Wiring Method

About to wire up another studio and have an insane amount of DB25s to do. In the past, I've always lifted Pin 1/Sleeve at the inputs on XLR and TRS line-level, but when I've done DB25s in the past, I've always soldered everything up. What does everyone do with DB25 inputs when wiring then up yoursel...
