Haha, nice gathering! :)

I found the unit and two different cables. I also have two sets of 'homebrew-'midiizer'-cables.

PM on the way!

I think i got a IF-1000-unit, but i'm in the Netherlands ... Never used it, but it came together with a Midiizer. The midiizer is sold, but the IF1000 should be in my attick! I maybe have some (homebrew) midiizer-cables too. I'll check and send you a pm. Btw: are you the same person as on the Tascam...

There's more! :D Although last year wasn't too good (problems with the video and/or audio), this year we did 6 sessions. The quality of the acts was very good this year and the recordings worked out fine, i think. Although i still have to skip two songs (veto from the artist), here are the six compl...

Thank you all for the input. I'm looking to digitize some multitracks, for archival purposes. ProTools is out of my reach. But i could strap some Roland VS-recorders together! :D I got a great Digigram soundcard, but unfortunately it only has two inputs. So i guess i'll stick to the 2-tracks at once...

Is there recording software that can record while synced?

Hi all, i'm looking for a solution to transfer my tapes to pc. i can do this with a extra hit on tape and align it in Reaper, that works. But wouldn't it be better (and hopefully easier) to sync the recording software to the smpte-code on tape? I got several tape-midi-synchronisers that can translat...

- record SMPTE to tape,
- play SMPTE-track through a SMPTE>MIDI-coverter (sync-box),
- synchronise DAW to MIDI.

note that the tape would be the master, the DAW the slave.

that's it!

Re: Any use for the time code center track of a tape recorde

Hello, my 2-track tape machine is equipped with a SMPTE time code center track, which I did not use, but probably it is a benefit I don't know... Couldn't it be useful anymore ? Does it probably make any sense to sync the time code with the computer/daw ? for the workflow or midi remote control ? t...

That and use the cassettes with thicker tape (C60) instead of the thinner tape (C90 or longer). I always had very good results with Maxell XLII's when i used my Tascam 488.
