Re: STILL don't think the media is biased against Bush?
I'm sorry, i need to back up for a minute. Did this thread on bias in the media get started with a story from the Drudge Report? Liberal bias in the media? WHERE? This administration has quite possibly had more dirty dealings than any other and yet they never get any press. Bush's records from his s...

Re: On the positive side of things.....
That's what I am talking about. We have to work with the local and national Democrats (god I hate this whole party thing but I guess I am in it now for better or worse) and let them know that there is support out there waiting for someone who is even remotely worthy of it. They need to pick an agend...

Re: kerry concedes
Schools teaching Creationism is utterly ludicrous to me. If you want your kid to learn that send them to a catholic school. We are in a serious bad way. Anybody on this board know of any good organizations I can offer my help to? I did some MoveOn stuff and a few other things, but quite frankly the ...

Re: kerry concedes
Unfortunately most of those suicides won't be Republicans. I really never liked either party, etc. etc. but I have to say I Fuckin hate Bush and don't understand how the country got to this. The Dems have to get their shit together. I mean Bush used Liberal as a derogatory term in the debates and th...

Re: Ear Plugs
I went to a local hearing aid place believe it or not, after a friend recommended me. It turns out several members of the local orchestra had gone there. Total I think was $120 (this was about 6 years ago). They fit like a dream and I got both a 15 db and a 25 db set of attenuators that you can clip...

Re: Mixing with DELAYS......delays......delays
Thanks for some quick replies! That's a good tip Joel, I didn't think about it but our vocalist has a pretty high pitched voice and that may be why it is so much more obvious when I am experimenting with it on his vocals. It's interesting that you bring un the Karlette, I want to love that thing but...

Mixing with DELAYS......delays......delays
I am starting to mix some songs for my band, and whereas most projects I do for other people are rather sparse, these are dense mixes; two guitars, vocals, either piano or organ, bass and drums. Arrangement wise the pieces seem to fit together pretty well. I am still learning how to gently EQ things...

Re: new Helmet
Man I love these guys! Yeah the older stuff was great. I saw them play with Korn and Limp Biscuit. Let me rephrase that, I had to sit through the torture that is/was Limp Biscuit to get to hear Helmet (who should have headlined). They were amazing live, no nonsence, didn't talk to the crowd much, ju...

Re: Which computer platform??
Well, I haven't had experience with a lot of other software (started with Cool Edit) but I have Nuendo and I love it. The first release of Nuendo 2.0 was a little buggy, but the current is sweet. If you cruise over to the Nuendo forums there is a lot of complaining but it is solid as a rock for me a...

Re: How do you process YOUR bass drum
You should check out this thread: http://marsh.prosoundweb.com/index.php/mv/msg/287/0/0/ It is the continuation of like a two year old thread by Slipperman on recording rock guitars. Anyway, he picked it back up and is going through mixing and he just happens to start out with the bass drum. He is g...

Re: MF Blowing out Pro VLA - $239
yeah I noticed that, I was going to mention it to the sales girl, but I thought better of it. I told them I was going to order it on line this morning from work, but called when I realized that the pricing was different than in my catalog at home. I wanted to make sure to get the right price....

Re: MF Blowing out Pro VLA - $239
Thanks so much for this posting, as if I wasn't broke enough! Geez! Just ordered mine, they are doing the $199 and over free shipping now, so it was $239.99! Sweet! Seriously I need a good compressor with some character for tracking so this will hopefully fit the bill nicely as a different flavor. I...

Re: Cymbal Smasher... how to coach/encourage finesse with dr
Not to get off topic, but I take it this is THE Slipperman? I read your guitar dissertation and that was the best thing I have read in a long time. I mean the thing about petting your gun on the console had me laughing my ass off but there was so much great info on that thread. It's great to get the...

Re: Cymbal Smasher... how to coach/encourage finesse with dr
Sorry for the long post. . . Being a drummer, I have to chuckle when people always try to figure out ways to get drummers, or any musician for that matter, to suddenly change the way they play in the studio. I mean there is a difference in trying to coax out a great performance than there is in tryi...
