Thanks again. Does anybody have opinions as to the best drive to use to replace the internal drive on the Titanium? Based on what little I know I'm leaning towards a Western Digital Scorpio 120 or 160... Choose your computer model and see what it recommends here: http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/ind...

Garageband is extremely simple, just poke around in it for a few minutes and you'll be able to figure out how most things work.

Technically it can be done with some software, but generally it's a bad idea. Performance will suffer because the path will become more convoluted and not as high performing as if it was coming from your computers internal drive bus. Also, if your drive is almost full already your performance is alr...

Waves is definitely one of the worst companies as far as authorizations and upgrades. Definately. Waves has made a living screwing people over. They make some nice stuff but it's just not worth this headache for me. Even though they are sticking it to you again you'll probably get more for that $40...

Well, living in Florida (where we have many power outages  ) I can honestly say that having a battery backup has saved my ass many a times. It only takes one time of the power going out and you losing everything to know it's worth spending a little extra money for protection. As far as filteri...

You don't need a sequencer since DP already excels at that. What you need is some kind of sound module that has good drum sounds for you to trigger. Whether it's a hardware sound module or a software one is completely up to your preference. Personally I prefer software because (with rewire) it integ...

If you have a mac nearby just hook it up to that and reformat it for PC on the mac. FAT32 is the way to go. Either that or just burn the sessions tsome dvds and give them to whoever needs them and they can copy them to their hard drives. It's a good idea to have a "hard" copy anyways.

I'm sorry that you think the HD24 is too expensive, but consider these advantages: It's not exactly that it is too expensive, it's more that I can get computer stuff pretty cheap of free around here so if I do that and get a A-D/D-A converter I spend half the price. Plus I can upgrade any part with...

Have you checked out the MX2424? It's similar to the Alesis but it may be coming down in price because they have a newer 48 track version on the way. If you only need a 24 track digital multitrack and not all of the fancy plugins and stuff it's a great deal.
