Well, my sarcasm is limitless. No joke about the band though. I'm quite proud of my accomplishments here.

I think these are all valid criticisms.

Lee Van Cleef - Songs About S4i!!ing

Thought I'd keep the title clean. The album looks like this, which may help explain the title: http://www.louisvillehardcore.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/254653_475823689107115_1596452668_n.jpeg You can download it for free here and here . And just so this doesn't seem completely shameless, I'd li...

I do use the computer for things other than recording. I do get online with it, but I never download anything, and I seldom do anything but check email. The computer is defragging right now. What is latency? How would an external harddrive effect things? I appreciate all of these suggestions very, v...

Weird Computer Glitch

I'm new to the computer end of recording. My current set up is a Tascam 688 for analog, which I run into Tascam FW-1804 Firewire interface, which goes into an HP Laptop. I realize the specs on the laptop may be important to problem solving, but I'm not at home to get them. So, I record a band on the...

Re: my poor broken eight track and my utter lack of trust...

I'm inclined to agree with you my good sir, but I'm a little apprehensive about possibly messing up something I spent so much money on. Provided that I assemble and reassemble everything with care, is there anything I can mess up (i.e. is there anything that's sensitive to light or air)? I doubt tho...

my poor broken eight track and my utter lack of trust...

I am the proud owner of two Tascam 688's. I had experience playing w/ an acquaintances recorder of the same make, so I've become quite enamoured with that model. It's easy to use and fairly affordable. It's also old and both of the units I own are in differing states of disrepair. On one unit, the t...

Re: aluminum necks?

I suppose it may be accurate that travis bean necks go through the body, but I distinctly recall that in the past, I've seen necks for kramer guitars on sale. That'd be hot. I'd really like that. I have this really neat no name guitar. I love the way it looks and it actually sounds decent, but it wo...

aluminum necks?

does anyone know if you can buy an aluminum neck, either of the travis bean or kramer variety? I'd like to replace the neck on a guitar I own and I think it'd be rather interesting to add an aluminum neck, but I don't know where to seek one out.

suggestions?

Re: distortion pedals

Sorry for the triple post above, had a nasty glitch. Now let me get this a bit more straight. What the ttaurisb is after is essentially to use a pedal to add the equivalent of a channel switch to his rig. Something to push the sound louder and harder for parts of a song, over a basic decent sound. ...

Re: distortion pedals

actually, my amp isn't running at full capacity (I play it at about 4 generally), it just has a decent amount of overdrive to it (which I've found that all Fender amps seem to). That said, I really don't want a new amp. Despite a few dents on it, that Bassman is where it's at (I play bass and guitar...
