Okay, how about $1650 PayPal'd and shipped US 48.
It has been gone over by Sound Devices and is working perfectly. You're welcome to inspect/test in Los Angeles. I'm PayPal verified for over ten years and have many references. You must have a confirmed shipping address.

What interface for this unconventional (but pro gear) setup?
My pro sound experience includes the music world, but is mostly in film and video production (hence the gear I would like to use in this setup). I'm also a guitar player. For context, you can consider this pertaining to a basic project studio setup. My audio-in needs are relatively simple: mainly vo...

Re: Motu 828 mic level - input gain all the way up, signal l
Remember that one time i suggested that. ;) Yes, you did. 2 points. And I guess I should have tried it, but I was of course correlating that with condenser mics, not voodoo. So spiral, do you have much experience with the original 828? And if so, do my better-but-still-lowish levels from dynamic mi...

Re: Motu 828 mic level - input gain all the way up, signal l
An update: I called Motu support today, and the suggestion was that I turn on 48v since I had not been using it, and that sometimes preamp circuits need to be "shocked" back to life, if you will. I have never heard that, but did as he suggested. Sure enough, now the levels with the dynamic mics are ...

Re: 896HD w/ SM57/58, low gain issue
I'm having the same problem with an 828. http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?t=13702 Using any dynamic mic or cable combination, with the input gain turned all the way up, results in ridiculously low line level at the computer. Combine that with a terribly dirty main volume pot and I'm very...

Re: Motu 828 mic level - input gain all the way up, signal l
Have you tried turning on the phantom power? What mic are you using? With the mic, are you using an XLR? spiral, I listed some of the mics I have tried in my original post. Mainly an SM57 via XLR. I have not tried phantom power. I do have Microtech Gefell M300 I could try with the 48v, but that doe...

Motu 828 mic level - input gain all the way up, signal low
I've acquired a Motu 828 (original) which is connected via FW to a Mac (Quicksilver 1GHz DP). Besides a terribly noisy main volume pot, I'm concerned about the input levels, but not sure if my inexperience may be a factor. This is early in my setup, so the DAW software has not been finalized nor is ...

Re: Mogami 3310 cables between Motu 828 and powered monitors
Thanks guys.
The $14 is irrelevant, I didn't mean to imply it's a cost thing. By affordable I meant not particularly expensive. Just wondering if these cables were a logical choice for this application, and they're cheap to boot.

Mogami 3310 cables between Motu 828 and powered monitors?
I need to select some affordable 10' cables to run from the main outs on a Motu 828 FireWire interface into Event TR5 powered monitors. Is the Mogami 3310 an appropriate cable for this application? They are mono cables made up by Mogami with molded 1/4" connectors and cable marked "2314 Low Noise". ...
