If these are the only mics you use, it would indeed be the easiest solution to alter the recording mixer so that it doesn't supply 48V but 12V instead. One small change, and all mics will work. If you still want to use the mixer with other mics, you could install a switch and make phantom powering v...

N692 was the version with internal mic preamps. So the PSU not only supplied the powering for the mics but also amplification of the signal in order to get line level as output. These mic preamps are of somewhat inferior quality (noise, ....). They were not intented for recording purposes, but P.A. ...

I've converted several Gefell mics, also I built some external converters, so I want to make some comments to this discussion. First, the MV 691 and 692 do NOT use T-Power. This is very important, because if you use the wrong adapter it may do harm to the mic. Both mics (as well as other Gefell type...

Re: Running Gefell MV692 on 48v

Daniel, don't try to run the mics on 48 V, it'll wreck them. The "V" in the model number doesn't indicate a 48 V phantom power. "MV" is the german shortcut for mic preamp, where "V" stands for Verstaerker, which is the german word for amplifier. I have send some of my old MV's directly to Gefell and...
