Long-winded way of saying: people should be able to sample whatever the F they want. D For me it's not about people being able to sample . It's how they use the samples that counts. It also boils down to being fair: if you use someone else's work to make money, then you owe them a cut. Let me clari...

I think recording has so much technical ego and black magic surrounding it and some people want to believe it's ALL methodical. Nothing against methodical, it's the only way to troubleshoot, use gear as a "tool" to solve a problem, get things done efficiently when needed, etc. But there is that cre...

If your net earnings are less then $400 in a year for , you don't need to report your earnings from a small business. An example: collected $10,000 from bands for recording their demos. spent 5 grand on a mic and 2 grand on a new computer, 3 grand on a guitar. Business profit... zero. Taxable incom...

Workflow-wise it is not much different. All the keyboard shortcuts work etc. A lot of stuff has moved (argggh) in the menu's again. For instance the "Draw Gridlines in Edit Window" option is now simply a matter of clicking on the "grid" button next to where you set the grid value. This is a small th...

KM84 and KM184 are two completely different animals. The KM84 is no longer made. I believe these had a transformer in the output stage and have a much different sound quality from the 184. The 184 is the "affordable" version of the KM140. Unlike the 140, the capsule cannot be changed so you are stuc...

I would think "produced by" covers it all, in the absence of an engineering credit going to someone else. If you produced it, and there's no other recording/mixing etc credits, the assumption, in my mind anyway, would be you did it all. Not necessarily - many older recordings only credit the produc...
