Yeah, sorry, this isn't my place, it's a band I dig and was excited when they announced they were putting a webcam up in the studio, but now the reality of the event is very underwhelming. Just voicing frustration. Carry on.

Assuming you've got some solid mics and if you're tracking everything at once, I'd say get some flex with a Sytek and then add some color with a Vintech 1272 or the like, that'd give you 6 solid pres for around what you'd pay for the 2-610 and some different flavors, especially if you get the BB opt...

Nice summary of the differences between the two. I'm leaning towards a 4050 based on your rec, or lack of one with the PPA.

Another option is to find a 001 used. I got one of these along with the 6.1 upgrade. 8 analog in/out, 2 pres (crappy), lightpipe, spdif, usually around $375.

Dang, the first one I bought the power supply was broken, I just got the replacement but the left channel won't pass signal when the compressor is engaged, bypassed it passes signal fine but otherwise....

I'm tired of sending this thing back.
