A place to set up drums? storage shed?

Okay, I'm not sure how appropriate a place this is to ask, but hopefuly someone has some good feedback for me. I am not going to ask the 'How do I soundproof my apartment so I can play my Marshall stack on 11?,' I know it can't be done. I'm not even going there. So I'm looking for a new place to set...

Re: headphone stories: MoreMe, Sennheiser, Sony.

Does Sony still make the 7506? I don't see any info on their page?

Re: headphone stories: MoreMe, Sennheiser, Sony.

Thanks for the review, I'm in the market and had just about narrowed it down to the Sennheisers or the Sonys. This may sway me. I haven't heard many critiques of the 280's from the posts I've read, I suppose because no one addresses the mechanical properties, only the audio. How would you say the au...

Re: Ambient delay pedal

Or you could get the MaxonAD999 for only $360?

I think I spent $400 for the AD900? which I'll admit it ridiculous. I don't know what I was thinking. It is my most used pedal though.

Check out buzzfox.com for some nice samples of pedals at different settings.

Re: PC to Mac

I would set up SMB file sharing from one computer to the other, using ethernet.

Powerbook and iBook owners: a handy download for trackpad

I just downloaded and installed Sidetrack, a replacement trackpad driver. It rocks my world. I almost prefer it to my Bluetooth mouse with all its scroll-wheel gadgetry. It takes some tinkering with the settings to get it to work reliablly, but it's solid when it's configured. Unfortunately it looks...

Cheeseball Mic Saves the Day. Or TapeOp Ate My Post

So I got this free Cascade M20 when I ordered from Bayview Pro Audio. I wrote a little reiview and it was dandy. But TapeOp ate my post. So here's the down and dirty: This mic sounds better on vocals than my AT 4033. Nice rolled off high-end and accentuated mids make it cool for coloring sound witho...

Re: Powerbook or IBook

Also, the video card in the iBook isn't going to support CoreVideo/image in 10.4: basically some eye candy to miss out on.

Re: Powerbook or IBook

Good to hear it, one rarely regrets spending a little more for what they need. I'm having a good time on my new iBook too.

Nice when technology works for ya.

p.s. And my iBook can kick your Powerbook's wussy ass any day! :D

Re: Walter Sear makes me cry

We need an emoticon of beating a dead horse. PETA would love us too. You know, I think the only thing that irks me is that it's called 'The Creative Music Recording Magazine,' not 'The Audiophile Recording Magazine.' Now we may begin debating the definition of 'Creative?' If I saw Walter, I'd...

Austin studios in the local paper

Hey all, I wasn't on yesterday so I couldn't give the heads up, I hope this isn't old news. At least I found no posts on it. Yesterday's XL ent. (in the Austin American Statesman) had a nice feature on local studios. I know at least one TapeOp'ers place of employment was covered here. This Sunday, t...

Re: Powerbook or IBook

Since the powerbooks no longer have L3 cache, it's a pretty small difference. This used to be THE reason for getting a powerbook, but now the architecture has changed and it's supposedly not needed. Basically, on the powerbook, the bus speed is higher (167 vs 133 I believe) and the procesor is faste...
