Re: AVID buys out M - Audio

I'm a little skeptical... They already have the market pretty much cornered, so I kind of doubt that anything they'll do will be more "affordable." I mean, if you like to use "crap," you can get the mbox...it's affordable. At like 500 bucks you can get 2 inputs and shitty mic pres. I'd rather spend ...

Re: AVID buys out M - Audio

well, if it meant that we could run pro tools without having to buying digidesign's expensive-ass gear, that would be sweet.

However, I'm sure that what they'll do is package the m-audio stuff with a really chintzy version of pro-tools that nobody would want to use anyway.

Re: So. I finally found a way to post this dang thing.

Good vibes, brah.

I like the vocal sound.

Bass could be louder.

Less clipping would be nice.

But it's a pretty neat song, and it sounds like you had fun recording it.

Re: cracked software

Well, if not for cracked software, I probably would not be in this game. It's like a gazillion bucks for Logic or Nuendo! That said, since I'm taking out a loan and buying a powerbook, I'm going to go ahead and buy Logic, since I've been using it for free for years... Still, you want to talk about e...

I find it rather hard to believe that they tracked those drums with one mic.

Re: Green Day confusion

I like Green Day. I mean, it's better than anything else on the radio, not that that's saying much. Plus, I'd rather listen to a band that rips off the clash and the replacements and the who and all those other greats than the other mall punk bands that rip off...Jimmy Eat World. I believe that ever...

Re: AllMusic vs Tom Petty

I love Tom Petty, but I gotta say, that last album pretty much blows. It was weak musically, and the lyrics were about as adroit as the ones written by your local 14 year-old punk band railing on the government. That said, "Wildflowers" is one of my favorite albums of all time. And his older stuff i...

Re: You know what mic is the biggest piece of shit?

Actually, the NT2 isn't that bad, in my opinion.

My friend has a pair of them that he uses for classical recordings, and they seem to do the trick.

I just think that in the last couple years, Rode's quality control has gone to shit.
