Re: Speaker switcher recommendations

Yes, I have the Samson C-Control thing between the DAW and the Technics receiver (SA800) I use to monitor. I have SPS-4 on one of the two Technics speakers out.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Brand new refurbished computer, running XP Pro with a 3.o dual chip set up with DDR3 - top of the line from, say, 2009! I burned out my 11 year old macheen (actually, some caps went) and bought this offa the Ebog for US$130 with a 1 year warranty, installed my Cool Edit Pro 2,1 and M-Audio Delta44 a...

Re: The Nighttripper

I really dislike The Black Keys but that album he did with Auerbach, Locked Down, might be in my top 10 of all time. I saw him at a festival in Chi in the early 90's and he did not look healthy, but sounded great. He walked on gilded splinters.

Re: tracking headphones 2019 (for the performers)

I just tell 'em to bring their own.

If they don't, I might give 'em a old pair of Magnavox that seem top weigh like 10 lbs., at least to try at first.

They bring their own the next time.

RIP Leon Redbone

https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/31/entertai ... index.html

In a 1974 interview with Rolling Stone, Dylan said of Redbone: "I've heard he's anywhere from 25 to 60... I can't tell. But you gotta see him."

Re: Is my situation condusive to a Monitor puchase?

FWIW, I'm a big believer in using different listening sources and formats.

I drop various stages of mixes (ruff, version 1 & 3, final, etc.) in mp3 or wave or FLAC onto a digital player (like a Ipod but not) and listen on the train, shopping, taking moms to the doc, etc.

Keep your headphones, add the monitors. Listen on both. Wait, save a few hundred bucks and then buy some OC 703, some fabric and some hardware and try and tame your room a little more.

Step by step....
This.

You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Unless you're trying to say the tracks are pregnant with possibilities.
Really?

(And I like that Greasefire track, also - sounds yuge. Now, if only he was playin' a jizzmaster ...)
