Re: OH and room drum mic Techniques

related, of course is how you mix those tracks: my drummer and bassist want more cymbals up to now, I had lo-passed the kick 4dB at 7K onna easy slope, level at -12dB and lightly high-passed the snare 2dB at 160Hz, mebbe added 1.4 dB little at 1.5K, level at -10dB (before compression and reverb, whi...

Re: OH and room drum mic Techniques

we have been recording full band live, lately, amp'd up so, Studio Projects C4's in XY 3' in front, centered on the snare, 5-6' up - I did just buy one o' those printed ORTF clamps (at Reverb) that I'll get around to trying ... 57 or 58 or a old AKG (lately D6000) at the snare rim, 45 degree angle p...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Pedals: Toadworks Looper, I like this brand, and this is nicely diminutive Radial ABY, to use my NT15's as a pair (yep, I fixed the broked one I wrote about - my diag was correct) J. Rockett Archer - the silver one, I really like this Klon clone, best I've heard and I have a few (MXR, Wampler, etc.)...

Re: What preamps are y'all liking these days?

Another dbx160XT lover here - it lives on my rack for bass, usually in parallel with a Meek VC3Q, typically mic'd but sometimes DI'd, great either way. I have a stereo dbx 166 also - totally useable - I have a stereo Digitech pressor (866II) that's very close in sound. As well as the Symmetrix 522. ...

:(

Always interesting comments.

When I was in college I used to see him play with Capt. Rat and the Blind Rivets.

Re: Reverb issues

yeah, non issue here. reverb does the video thing to verify you're a real person and not a scammer. i've done it many times, quality doesn't matter, do it with your phone. i love reverb support, they helped me get a positive resolution on every issue i've ever had. "verify you're a real person and ...

Re: Reverb issues

I'm confused. What was the issue with the amp? and if it's not visible, then is it something you can hear, on a video? So, make a video with your phone, and you're done. They can also hear it when I return it, which I would have done if they weren't so ... tone deaf. And if the scamming seller comp...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

I'm a single guy, make a buck, spend my off time and $ on TV, food and booze and weed, and music, and those friends wanna join me. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say how much I spend on gear but, I'm comfortable withit. I think I bought a cuppla tube amps and basses on Reverb last year, mebbe a guitar,...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Big plastic boxes; go ahead and larf, but they fit under the coffee table to hold pedals and cables and slides and patch cords and other shite I need when doing living room jams EQD Blumes - that's right, not a typo, it's the bass version of the Plumes. I compared both on bass and I am really diggin...
