Re: THANKS TapeOP! and Mackie too!
I've been using Sonic Foundry stuff ala PC, in conjunction with digital workstations for a few years now. Sonic Foundry's softs are very user friendly - if you can use Microsatan Word, you can do wonders with Foundry. I'm checking out Tracktion now - first impression...I don't really like the layout...

Re: Bush knew about Ashlee Simpson and did not warn
It's just sick the way the Bush regime keeps manipulating lives for the sake of oil...as if the war in Iraq wasn't enough. But...to jeapordize Ms. Simpon's credibility as an artist...well, it's a DAMNED OUTRAGE!!

i thought this was gonna be about horrid christian rock bands bands from the 80's......geez (kicks the dirt) Ha...me too. But, then I never listened to Petra. I don't even know what they sounded like. There was just a stigma about Christian rock - and hearing Stryper, just one song mind you, was al...

Re: Cross-stick snare miking. HOW?
I read about the blanket tunnel technique today. It sounds promising. I'm using a Senheiser E602 on the kick and Audix f10s on the toms. I have the kick mic about 2-3 inches from the beater head and at a 45 degree angle and the tom mics are placed...well, they're pointed at the kick drum...I read th...

WTF...newbie here. How'd you mount the mic/how'd the vocalist sing through it? That's pretty cool, but, I'm having a tough time visualizing it.Joel Hamilton wrote:I simply used a wireless mic on a turntable in front of any guitar amp. You can even "play" the 33-45 rpm selector (or more if you have 78rpm).

Re: songwriting is hard
Treat your unconscious like your bitch. Word...and LOL. You have a way of putting things that's humorous, yet true. It's amazing what your subconcious mind is capable of. Instead of agonizing over that chord change or that line, sometimes it's just better to let the subconcious take care of it. Not...

I don't know if any of you have heard the new Shatner album that was produced by Ben Folds. There's a cut called, "It hasn't happened yet," which is great, with words written by Shatner. It is a very brave and personel reflection, where Bill confesses his deep, dark issues. It's almost hard to beli...

HA! That's great if it's true. And...I can see it happening. It hits a soft spot with me since I am a collector of Japanese animation - Yes, I love well-endowed cartoon caricatured-teenage girls with blue hair, running around and bitching about how they have inherited the responsibilty to save Tokyo...

Re: songwriting is hard
Cappy*tan and Skeeter are right. Good advice there. Nothing to expound on, really. Draw from any source for influence...don't wait for inspiration, if you want to write prolifically. Draw from every portion of you mind. You don't have to rely on calamity to write a heart-wrenching and thoughtful son...
