Re: Guitar amplifier speaker impedence question.
If you are into Fender, the silver face twins are definitly an example of when fender was at the top. I like some of the older fender stuff, but I use a wide variety of sounds. Fenders are great clean, and Marshalls are pretty much one trick poneys. They are ok if you like them, I like many other br...

Re: commercials are loud.
Lets hope the TV industry doesn't have their own gestapo like the music industry does. Wouldn't it be hell to get sued for muting? Wouldn't suprise me a bit if it happened.

Re: commercials are loud.
Interesting you should say that about commercials on cable. I was in the test area when Warner first test marketed Warner Qube. It was the first cable with a box, before that all cable went right into the television. One of the features that Qube touted was pay TV, comercial free broadcasting. As so...

Re: Analog mixer users - what do you 2-track to?
I go to both a dat and a CD recorder, I do four identical mixes, to have plenty of backups. Both work well. Also, for you drum machine users, when I use a drum machine, I use my CD recorder to back up drum data, works fantastic, and, one disc lsts forever because I never need to finalize it.

Re: Recording DRUMS with LESS HI-HAT please....
Try this as an experiment: Try standing something you can form into a corner shape (like a room divider) behind the hat so that it is behind the hat, tall enough to be about a foot higher than the hat, and drape something that will aborb a little of the refelction from the hat over it. Perhaps somet...

BTW If it were not for remotes with mute buttons, I would not even bother with TV. I don't listen to commercials, either on TV or radio. Got enough garbage that makes it into my head.

Re: commercials are loud.
Commercials are not loud, they are just compressed to the max. When a sitcom is on, the sounds in the show are at various volume levels, occationally peaking out. With commercials they compress everything to the ceiling, making them seem louder because everything is at peak all the time. They are no...

Re: Guitar amplifier speaker impedence question.
Actually, I live near a major city, and play there, and am in music stores regularly, both Sam Ash and Guitar Center are there, with other peripheral stores that are about half their size, and again, I see mostly fender solid state stuff. I don't really check out fender gear anymore, there is too mu...

Re: Guitar amplifier speaker impedence question.
Well man, Fender was known for tube amps years ago, when I started playing in the 60s everything was tubes. But now , after changing hands a few times, they are an entirely different company. One amongst many out there. Most of the stuff I see by them in music stores are mass produced solid state am...

Re: Buying a bass cabinet. Should I get a 1x15 or a 4x10?
It just occurred to me, I bought my speakers at a place that was listed on ebay, they are 150 watt tens, I got them for 30 bucks each, WAY deal, they sound as good as anything I have heard. If you want info on them, let me know and I will see if I have them bookmarked or have a record of their name ...

Re: Buying a bass cabinet. Should I get a 1x15 or a 4x10?
I like then huge cab sound that was pupular when rock music was happening. I do think that speaker technology has gotten to the point where you can get alot better sound from tens than you could years ago. Huge cabs are just not very practical for most bands anymore, considering large venues are far...

Re: Guitar amplifier speaker impedence question.
I am glad you got it resolved. I do think it is pretty bogus that if the amp is under warrenty it was not repaired with exact spec replacement.

Re: Buying a bass cabinet. Should I get a 1x15 or a 4x10?
I used two cabs I designed and built when I was playing bass live (I am really a lead guitarist), one had a 15 and the other 2 tens. I used a Berhinger head ( I replaced a hartke with it) and my rig CRANKS. I have also seen guys using 2x10 cabs in medium sized clubs ( I think the bass player in the ...

Re: compression seting or tips for voice over
If it is for film, compress it good, and gate it, preferebly with a downward expander, or something else that only gates higher frequencies and make the gate decay slow.

Re: Guitar amplifier speaker impedence question.
My fault, I assumed because it was a Fender that it was solid state. If it is a tube amp, getting info out of Fender will not be easy, find out who in your town repairs tube amps, almost every town has a guy or two that works on them, some of them have figured out the parts in Fenders (from what I h...
