To complete my very rudimentary home studio setup (cubase le) I need monitors. I have been playing loud rock & roll for the past 25 years, however, and I have pretty bad tinnitus. Another vote for the Shure SM7b It fits the requirements listed in your original post exactly. Not only that but it's very forgiving if you don't have an ideal room to sing in.
