Re: connecting three or more guitars to one amplifier?
Seattle's greatest Pop-Punk band Sicko had a song called "80 dollars" about buying a pedal to do just that (the guitarist and the bass player switched back & forth but they had their own guitars...into the same amp. The song suggests that it didnt go too well. "...and it cost him 80 dooooolars!" :)

Re: Guitar Players: Most Overrated Solo
I think its funny that all of the flashy guitarists that are held so dearly by Guitar Magazine (or whatever) readers cant make a decent recod on their own. Every fancy-pants shredder whoe goes solo puts out the most soulless dry studio crap there is. Theyre kind of like thos long drive contest golfe...

Re: How To Play Guitar
Go Rent THE BAND THAT WOULD BE KING (a Half Japanese documentary)
It includes the above-mentioned How To Play The Guitar as well as hours of brilliant retardedness (or just plain genius!)
The movie opens with the song "Calling All Girls" which illustrates his guitar philosophy perfectly.

Re: looking for feedback
The drums sound good for 1 mic into a 4 track (I know because i use the same set-up and have a very hard time getting a decent drum sound) How did you mic the drums? did you use compression?

I know there was a Liam Watson interview in an issue of Tape Op that I dont have, So maybe it covers some of the same ground, But I just love the sounds he gets. Here's an interview I surffed across: http://www.thestudentzone.com/articles/soundof.html "These days people have too long to analyse it a...

Re: Violent Femmes first record
I love the VF sound on that record too and was happily surprised to read that Glen Lorbiecki has a studio here in Seattle. So I googled his name and came up with ...not much. One of my all time favorite "blend of honest grit and studio polish" are the Kaisers recordings @ Toe Rag. They are warm and ...
