Re: A tale of two Osamas

It's strange that the big part that was reported on the news, "Your security is not in the hands of [Democratic presidential nominee John] Kerry or Bush or al Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands. Any nation that does not attack us will not be attacked." wasn't even in the Aljazeera version, an...

Re: Electrical Engineering programs in the Bay Area?

Not that I have looked into it but I find it hard to believe that Berkeley is less than a grand a semester and even find it hard to believe SF state is. I do know that if you are full time at SJSU it's something like 1300 or so a semester. Add books and yours almost up to 1600. There are a lot of gr...

Re: Proportional Representation

Just about every country in the entire world has a proportional system, well except the US, North Korea, and Iran. Seriously though, there are only a couple of them who don't. It will never change here because the people who are in power would lose some of their power and why in God's name would the...

SJSU supposedly has a good one.
Kind of far from SF but way cheaper than berkeley.

Her reaction is amazing.

Ashlee: Hey guys what do I do?
Band: Uh... sing. Oh wait, you can't.

I only hope someone pulled that one on purpose.

Re: Testing a circuit with a multimeter? Help!

The 'm' and 'k' refer to Mega (10^6) and kilo (10^3) and they multiply the ohms. Like meters and kilometers. 1000 (10^3) meters is 1 kilometer. Or kilobytes and megabytes. Gotta love that metric system. Always start with the highest amount and work your way down. So start with 20m (read mega-ohms), ...

Botulinum toxin is "the most poisonous substance known," says Stephen S. Arnon, M.D., head of the Infant Botulism Prevention Program at the California Department of Health Services.

Not like they found any of the stuff anyway.

Re: America, the Empire

That's intense. Reminded me of this little tidbit. ?A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the mo...

Re: Hilarious: John Stewart on Crossfire- must see

First off, Tucker Carlson has no point. And secondly John Stewart does get it and he probably said the most real thing on that show ever. The way this whole deal unfolds is completely surreal and John called them on it. He had those two fuckers reeling and they had nothing. I loved when Tucker would...
