WTB: U87, not Ai.

Yep, I have one, and I want another, and stupidly, I didn't get one six years ago when they could be had for about half the going rate, but I'm looking anyway. Anyone with a simple old Neumann U87 for sale? Not the newer Ai because it won't ever match up as a 'pair' with mine. Thanks for even thinki...

FS: Tascam FW-1884 and Digi 002 Rack $350 each.

Just a couple of nifty items for a proper TapeOp home... Any takers? Both in excellent condition. Used in a non-smoking home sparingly for their lives thus far. I only have the discs/installers for ProTools up to 7.4.2 OSX. But I do have all original disks, manuals etc; I figure $350 each is fair ba...

Kick drum heads.

Sure it's a silly question on the recording forum. But I need a new kick head for our rock kit and was wanting to hear some opinions as to what the preferred batter side head for pure rock fury is.

Anyone using this series of control surface? Any comments? Are you using The control, Mix, or both? Anyone care to comment on their love/hate for the Mackie Control Universal Pro, I'd like to hear that too, basically, tell me about your control surface and why it's great. Just thinking about doing l...

depends totally on your tone, but for a good clean boost, the keeley modded BD-2 smokes. i rarely use it clean (except in the studio) as i happen to like it's overdrive a hell of a lot with my tele. yessir...

another vote for the Lawson 47 as a mono overhead just behind the drummer and about 5-6' off the ground. i use it a lot, throw it through an API pre and my trusty ADL 1000 and you're talking an insanely good sounding room mic with little or no eq necessary for good times.

Just quickly and resolutely saying that word clock is not just for multiple digital devices. A better clock can certainly make your 'one' device sound better. Time and time again i have found this to be a truth. From the Lynx clocks that sync our HD rig, to the Apogees that used to sync our MX2424, ...
