Also, do remember to take them off of standby before you shut off the power. I thought you turned them on and off with standby on. In fact, I thought you were supposed to turn it on with standby, let it sit for a minute or so before taking it off standby and then when you wanted to turn it off you ...

Anyone have the Prunes and Custard pedal? Is it more of a 1 trick pony or something capable of a variety of cool sounds? Any idea how it works? Thanks, and sorry Artifex I didn't see your post before, thanks for the help everyone.

I found the Nels website awhile back but I pretty sure Jeff and Leroy (?) did most of the guitar work on the album. Nonetheless it is a good read. Nels did not play on that album so that is not much help as far as how the album sounds were gotten. He joined them after that album was done. Thank god....

Wilco Guitar Sound

So I was listening to "A Ghost is Born", more specifically 'Hell is Chrome' and was wondering how they achieved that phasery lead guitar sound on the last couple notes/chord of the guitar solo. I can get something sorta like it with my friends bitrman but not quite. Any help would be greatly appreci...

Re: Microphones-How Long Will/Do They Last

Thanks Larry for the response and thanks for such a great mag. The reason I ask, and I could be wrong but I could have sworn I read a post from Fletcher on one of the ProSoundWeb messageboards discussing how mics like some of the studio project stuff and what not will probably not have the same life...

Microphones-How Long Will/Do They Last

This might be a dumb question but humor me. I know there are tons of mics out there from decades past still floating around in perfect working order but I was curious about some of the midrange-to-budget microphones being manufactured today. Assuming they are well cared for and used properly, will t...

Re: useful first diy projects

Rather than start a totally new thread I figured I'd just hijack this one. I have decided I want to build the jensen full featured direct box. I must admitt that my electronics knowledge is quite limited and except for some soldering and installing some new pickups in a guitar I don't really have an...

Re: Importing Wavefiles into Cubase 5.1

As far as I know the wave files are all 24/48 and so are the files in Cubase. I've only tried importing the audio directly to a seperate track thus far, I'll didn't think it made a difference if I brought it into the pool first. Thanks for the help, I'll give it another go and post my results.

Importing Wavefiles into Cubase 5.1

I have a few synth samples I want to import into Cubase 5.1. The problem is when I import them their tempo is almost double what it should be. I can't change the overall tempo of the song because I'll screw up the other tracks and I can't seem to do anything with timestretching to get them to sound ...

Re: 2x12 speaker cab

The orange cab is loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s. I checked the specs on the Celestion website but I don't really understand what it all means. Are there any places/people that build custom cabs for realitivly cheap. Thanks for everyones help thus far.

Re: 2x12 speaker cab

I have a marshal jcm900 and a sovtek mig 50. I'm just saw a silverface dual showman in a pawn shop the other day and I was thinking about getting one of those. I think there 8ohms output too but I don't remember and I didn't check. Anyway, I would use the cab with the marshal and sovtek head as well...

2x12 speaker cab

I know this has been talked about to some degree but I wanted a little verification from a few tapeoppers. I wanted a new guitar cab and was looking at the orange 2X12. I've never had to rewire speakers before to fit a certain Ohms but wouldn't a 2x12 be wired for 4ohms from the factory? And if so c...

Looking for a VST Compressor

I have Cubase and am looking for a software compressor to augment my meager outboard compressor collection. Hence, any recommendations on VST or DX (if you must) compressors, free or otherwise, I haven't looked at my budget yet so for now price isn't a factor and I'm hoping to garner a variety of su...

Re: Cubase 5.1 Question

Thanks a bunch, I think I'm slowly starting to get the hang of this program. Sucks I gotta give the laptop back in a week. How is Cubase SX, as good or better than 5.1?

Re: Cubase 5.1 Question

Thanks for the response spiral. Right after I posted the question I realized you could change the audio filename. However, in the process of answering one question for myself I stumbled upon a new one. I noticed in the audio pool all the files I recorded even the ones I deleted such as bad takes. Ho...
