Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear, enlightenment, and yer mom, man

I have a "The Paul" - whadda sweet guitar, much lighter than a Standard, etc., and I love the green-burst non-bound mahogany body. Mine came with Dirty Fingers which I used to love when playing out, but I am thinking of swapping to a PAF or even a P90 type. The guitar is just so playable in compari...

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear, enlightenment, and yer mom, man

Your Les Paul is looking a little lonely over there all by himself on the right, don't you think you need to get him a brother? Ha! Way ahead of you. I have a black 1988 Gibson Les Paul "the Paul" that I would have loved to have put up alongside that 2014, but I ran out of wall space. :) I did a se...

Awesome! Your finally got your quilted maple Charvel! Is the thing killer or what? Mahogany and maple, and that fretboard. Just great. Yeah, that's a G&L ASAT Special. Cursory search with the serial number puts it around 2016. U.S. made. Like I was telling Markjazzbassist in the vinyl thread: "used,...

Sometimes you have to be practical. it's not always possible to get a piece of gear when household necessities are required, like kitchen appliances. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/c48/shedshrine/FullSizeRender(6).jpeg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds Especially kitchen appliances with dual...

Chris Buck. Plays with fingers but has a pick curled up under his index finger which he flicks out when needed.

You have a beautiful playground there Scott. What a spread. Can't quite make out what each of those wonderful racked units might be, but they look the business. And yeah, I suppose if you serve brie and crackers there as well, all the better. _________________________________________________________...

Finger: skin has healed up almost entirely, been about 2 weeks. Feels like there's a knot in my fingertip, and from the cut on it's numb, but I played a lot yesterday for the first time without a band-aid. Hoping to not lose the callus there, that area wants to peel. ________________________________...

Man, these replies are great! ________________________ asking about engineers, producers, A quartet that caught my attention when I started paying attention: Conny Plank, Mayo Thompson, Martin Hannett, Mitch Easter. I’m definitely not a producer, and only a functional engineer,  but your comments ma...

Re: What are your influences?

When I saw that the thread title, I assumed the question "What are your influences" was asking about engineers, producers, maybe even hardware and software... in which case, I would have replied Gert Palmcrantz, David Chesky, Peter Moore, Al Schmidtt, Rudy Van Gelder, Norman Granz, Tommy LiPuma, Cr...

What are your influences?

Some random musical memories on influencers. Hoping others might share their stories, or at least list their influences. We all got into this art/hobby/line of work because we heard some things. This year's NAMM every guitar manufacturer seemed to have a superstrat. Don't know if it was just because...
