Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

What mic pre on Picard's Flute/previous Deep Cuts? Wow, thanks for asking/listening to the track. Question: did you think the vocal sound on Picard’s Flute was good? That vocal was tracked through my Toft ATB16 (mic was a Miktek CV4) So far I haven’t had the chance to pop the Miktek into the Shelfo...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

I bought my first purchase from VintageKing... I got a Rupert Neve Shelford Channel. This is the first really high-end unit I've ever bought, I have a feeling I'm going to buy more than one over the next 5-10yrs... Well, duh!;) https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/c48/shedshrine/alex_dingley_buyi...

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

The 2020 Illinois earthquake which struck at 4:02 am on July 5 measured 6.8 on the Richter scale. Although there were no fatalities, the event caused considerable structural damage to buildings, including the toppling of chimneys and spontaneous booty shaking in Chicago, the region's largest city. I...

Ooh! Honey, get the lawn chairs. Those interesting music types across the street are putting on a concert! I know right! I hope they play a harmonic series of repetitive alternative guitar tunings and dronings at extremely high volume! That would be awesome!

You will note, of course, I fear not the patchbays. now that's a stack! Mad scientist rig. Hard to make out exactly what all is in there. What do you use the Joe Meek Studio Channel VC1Qcs for? Is that a summit above it? I know you have a million amps, how often do you use the eleven? Cool to see y...

Re: vinyl collecting ( and surrounding planetary atmosphere )

Blade Runner 2 record set. On chrome vinyl. Freaking smooth as glass chrome vinyl. Have to use a 45 adaptor. Look like gigantic triple-thick double-sided cd's. Sounds like crap, or slippery crap. Actually there is no real sound, just a low level whooshing as the needle just slides around aimlessly. ...

Dug out a couple more items to add to that stack. It is starting to get pretty tall. But still no to patchbays! Just no. Square State model one b inductor based op amp eq and Meek VC3 channel. I believe Vlayman has one of these 1/2 rack Meek channel boxes he uses alot, or comparable model. This is t...

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

I'd seen how many studios had their stuff in racks with patchbays, but I got so tired of taking pieces in and out of racks and the patchbay thing was proving more hassle than its worth. For a one man operation I ended up just stacking my outboard gear. I made sure it was well balanced and on a stabl...
